Took switch in to be repaired on a Sunday gave a pick up date of Wednesday. It was not ready until the following Monday and when called was told that whilst repairing they noticed the D-Pad was not working, it had been fullely working when I dropped it off and they did then fox this but it was another day. The repair job was good but because of these issues and the length of time it took for the repair I can not give 5*s.
My son dropped his phone 12 and I had the screen replaced at the console clinic in Elm Park. Two weeks later he dropped it in about half of inch of water which leaked under the screen. I took it to the Apple Store at Stratford as the phone is only just over a year old, and the first thing they asked was if the screen had been replaced as the left corner wasn’t down properly and that’s how water had got under the screen. I spoke to James who advised me the screen is either on or off, so I took it back to the console clinic and they dried it out and then Face ID wasn’t working. I asked them to repair the Face ID. I collected the phone and was told that it had a small crack in the screen which they were going to replace as they caused it. I took it home as they said they need to order the screen. My son came home from work and was going to put his sim in the phone and noticed at the top you could see under the screen which we videoed so it was time stamped. You can also feel the screen move slightly when you gently push the top of it like it’s sticking. I knew this wasn’t right and the screen wasn’t on properly. I know the phones not water proof and only resistant but I am now questioning if the guy from the Apple Store was right and this is why water got under the screen as the screen wasn’t on properly. Had the screen replaced at no extra cost as they caused the damage but after spending £360.85 for a new screen, drying the phone out and repairing the Face ID and no offer of a refund for the damage caused to the phone due to screen not being on correctly the first time I doubt I will be going back there. Have used and recommended the console clinic many times but sadly no more. .Moreexpand_more
I spilled tea on my laptop and trusted them to repair it for me, the first bill was £192 which was quite a lot but to be honest I didn't know to what extent it damaged my laptop so I paid it and took it home to find out that my laptop doesn't have (or doesn't recognize) the battery and the speakers are not working (to get it out of the way - it was because of the drivers which is okay I guess but makes me question how they check your device before telling you can collect it). So of course I took it back to them for another check. In a few days I've got a call that my charger is not compatible (which is true, I was using it instead of a proper 240w temporarily because my old charger has broken; the thing is they didn't tell me a thing about it the first time) and apparently it's a special, very very expensive charger (sic! ) which they don't even have so they have to order it for £100 before checking what's happened to the battery. Now go look up prices for 240w/19. 5V/23A charger (quick hint - you can get the cheapest ones for £30-40) and try to process the possibility of it being so scarce they don't even have a spare one for testing (a. E. Someone didn't bring a charger at all). Of course I refused to proceed and asked to take it back to find out that I have to pay £25 on top of that… If you didn't get it that's how much costs the hard burden of reinstalling the drivers they didn't bother to check in a first place and a failed attempt to scam me for even more money (to be honest I think they might've sneakily replaced the battery…). The guy at the counter made a very sad face telling that it's a separate case and apparently they told me about incompatible charger the first time (it was the same guy - or maybe his evil twin, I don't what would be the next fantastic story), so of course I had to pay it and made a comment about his lacking persuasion skills when he tried to get extra £60 off me. I guess I got some entertainment value back from his face after this but can't say it was worth extra £25 plus a battery replacement (plus whatever was hidden in the initial £192 which definitely was a premium price). My advice to anyone wanting to use the services - avoid unless you want to pay ten times more and waste your time while they're coming up with hardly believable stories between your visits. My advice to Console Clinic - be less greedy, or at least give your employees acting classes if you want to continue your dubious practices - they're terrible at telling lies.Moreexpand_more
