About Cluett Carpentry
My name is Dan, and I’ve been working with boats for nearly two decades. For over half of that time, I’ve lived aboard my own narrowboat, giving me a deep, first-hand understanding of the unique demands of life on the water. Alongside my marine experience, I bring many years of expertise in carpentry, cabinetry, joinery, design, and project management - skills that are essential for creating thoughtful, functional spaces in often compact environments.
Cluett Carpentry Ltd is a family-run business that officially became a limited company in 2017, after many successful years operating as a sole trader. Our journey has been built on a strong foundation of craftsmanship, attention to detail, and a deep appreciation for the needs of boat owners.
We’re based in Harlow and primarily serve local marinas, the Greater London area, and surrounding counties. For more involved projects - such as wheelhouses or bespoke cabinetry - we’re happy to travel further afield. Most of the work is carried out in our dedicated workshop, which reduces the need for on-site disruption and helps keep your boat or home clean and comfortable during the build process.
I take pride in being hands-on with both design and production, and yes - I'm also the one running the office!
I collaborate closely with a trusted network of skilled craftspeople, each contributing to the creation of high-quality, one-off joinery and cabinetry tailored specifically for boats.
Our work is entirely focused on boats, and we offer a full range of carpentry, joinery, and cabinetry services. We particularly enjoy working on wheelhouses, cratch frames, doors, windows, custom furniture, and galley kitchens. From built-in beds and wardrobes to media walls and office setups, we bring bespoke design and craftsmanship to every project, no matter the size.0 FreeIndex Reviews
