Based in the South West, Classic Costume creates historically accurate reproduction period costumes for sale online and at costume fairs. Although a new start up, the owner has many years of experience in the textile and costume sector, and loves clothes and dressing up. As well as recreating fabulous gowns from historical eras such as Regency, Victorian and Medieval, Classic Costume also produces fantasy costume for LARP, with a particular interest in pirates, corsets, bustles and Steampunk. Classic Costume specialises in ladies' wear, but offers the occasional swashbuckler item as well.

The business offers ready made and custom costume to re-enactors and the general public. Items can be made to measure at reasonable cost, and to suit any budget. With years of textile and pattern drafting experience, and a long standing interest in historical fashion, the owner also has in depth knowledge of period textiles and hand sewing techniques, so clients can be sure to find a gown which will have that authentic feel, as well as one which fits and flatters.

Including a selection of colours and period styles, the gowns created by the business are perfect for re-enactments, costume balls or masquerades. Available on the website, the products are beautifully constructed from original patterns and will make any lady feel like the belle of the ball.
