A well run and designed set of classes that bring together discipline, fitness, self-defence in a fun package. My son has been attending regularly for a few years now and still really enjoys every lesson, and the progress made is huge. Dale is a good teacher, patient and enthusiastic. Highly recommended.
I have tried several martial arts before, and was unsure if this would be for me. After several months of classes I feel I'm now able to leave a through review. The instructor: Dale is a polite, pleasant and easy-to-talk-to guy, who explains what is required in easy to understand ways, is patient with all students and always has a smile on his face. The classes: At an hour long, they are perfect for those like me who have fitness issues, are varied and fun, while always pushing you to your best. Working closely in pairs with others is great too, as it is a way to boost cammeraderie. The martial art: Having done several before, I felt that I may have an advantage. As it turned out, my muscle memory actually causes issues for me now. However, that's not to say these are a block. The martial art itself is interesting, with a host of different techniques taught in a way that is easy to grasp. There are a few facets to it that are challenging, even physically awkward, but that all adds to the thrill. For me, CKD is something I look forward to, at the end of each session I'm exhausted but eager for the next. I can't recommend it enough, whether you're looking to get fit, learn self defence, or just have a good time. Give it a try. The free introduction lessons make it even better.Moreexpand_more
Dale is a teacher who builds a rapport with each pupil. He identifies the strengths and weaknesses of each child and takes the time to work with each pupil Individually during the lessons. My son is 6 and wants to go be a "Power Ranger", Dale always makes the lessons fun as well as informative. The lessons are made by a fantastic teacher; who is additionally a great role model for the kids.
I love this martial art and my instructor (Dale Miller) is superb! Been going for a couple of months now and I'll never give it up. Been made to feel very welcome and a part of the group from the first moment I joined and the feeling has never changed. Great way to get fitter and stronger while have a lot of fun! I would recommend CKD Bristol to anyone! Suitable for all ability and body types. I have fun every time I go to CKD and the hour sessions go by as if I'd been there for 10 minutes! Couldn't be happier!
Having been thought by Mr miller himself first hand, I myself can say the skills, enjoyment and fitness you gain form his sessions are second to none, Choi Kwang Do is a wonderful art, I've been doing it 10 years now, and Mr miller is one of the few instructors I have come across who pledges to perfection.
I have had the pleasure of attending the Choi Kwang Do classes run by Master Dale Miller. The classes are run in a structured way; there is lots of energy and enthusiasm. All the students are friendly and very welcoming. Master Miller is a fabulous instructor and would recommend the CKD classes to anyone of any age and ability.
My son started Choi Kwang Do some five years ago to build up his self esteem, he has not looked back since! Dale Miller has been an inspiration to him, he enjoys his class each week and very much wants to be an instructor himself, all credit to Dale for his patience and determination in helping him reach his goals.
Both my daughters do Choi Kwang do where we live and they attended last years welsh seminar which Master Miller was running the group helping with the kicks. I found him to be very friendly and struck up a good rapport with the students, he was especially helpful with my youngest that suffers from hypermobility syndrome, even taking time out after their group had finished the session to help her with her balance. The girls cannot wait to be able to stay with my aunt for a few days in Bradford On Avon during the Easter holidays so they can attend one of his classes there. I would highly recommend his classes to anyone looking at martial arts.
I have known Master Miller for some 18 years, and I have never met a more committed and technically minded instructor. He will go the extra mile to help you understand technique, it's application and limitations. I would definitely recommend visiting his class to see for yourself.
Master miller visited wales ckd in the summer of 2014 to run a section for our national seminar. Everyone who attended came a away with a firmer grasp of the technical aspect of ckd. We look forward to mater millers return in 2015 ? . Thomas Jones chief instructor avckd.
L have trained with master miller at every opportunity over the last fifteen years, his Technique is excellent especially his kicking (he went to USA to train under grandmaster Choi to improve his kicks)l don, t think you can ask any more of an instructor who, s willing to go that extra mile wish we lived closer has choi is something we do as a family what other martial art can cater for all ages and ability's Stephen 2nd dan.
We take our 6 year old son to Dale's class following a recommendation from a friend. The classes that Dale runs offer a mixture of fun, and technical training. Dale is great with the kids and our son's confidence grows with every lesson. We would highly recommend the class to all age groups.
