I went to Chard windows after doing a bit of research and reading other reviews. I am so happy with the result. I had French doors fitted in place of my old patio door because I found out I could have a cat flap, how exciting was that. The price was brilliant and they were very tidy. Can't fault them at all and I am looking forward to getting the rest of the house done. I would definitely recommend them.
Having made my decision to go with Martin and Peter largely based on reviews, I feel I can add little to what others have experienced. They have today completed replacement of 2 metal framed garage windows with uPVC equivalent in 'non standard' construction apertures with faultless outcome. The 30 odd blown/replacement double glazing units fitted, I required to have replacing or re-using the existing MITRED Georgian inserts which they were happy to accommodate and as a 'picky' engineer, I am delighted with the outcome.
Cannot recommend Chard windows enough. Martin and Peter did a fantastic job replacing the conservatory. Always arriving on time, overcoming terrible weather, always leaving the garden and work site clean and tidy removing rubbish daily. The end outcome was a first class job and what is so refreshing no problems and they fully delivered what they promised. Both Martin and Peter really know their stuff and their assessment prior to starting identified all the problems so the job went like clock work. So impressed they are coming back shortly do another job.
Martin and Peter replaced the 1960s wooden-framed windows in my flat with modern UPVc units. I've dealt with some of the nationally-known companies before and been messed about by salesmen. A very different experience with Martin and Peter - they listened to my requirements, offered advice when prompted and help me make the right decision on style, fittings, etc. They gave me a fixed (and very reasonable) quotation and time to think it over before coming back a week later to do final measurements and ordering the units. Five windows in my small flat in Bath took two working days. Martin and Peter arrived on time, despite dreadful traffic, and worked carefully and accurately, leaving no mess. When the job was complete they took away all the old frames and glass; there was no evidence that they were ever there. After an explanation of how the child locks work, I was given a certificate of guarantee (handles and locks are guaranteed for five years, not just one year as with other suppliers). I wholeheartedly recommend Chard Windows, a good family firm that relies on its well-deserved reputation for quality products and workmanship.Moreexpand_more
