Nigel Donovan has been tuning my pianos for many, many years. I can recommend him highly. He is totally reliable, punctual, polite, professional, tunes well, offers advice when requested or if he feels necessary, and all at a reasonable price. He has recently expertly replaced the leather strips on the music desks of my two grands - a beautiful job. He obviously loves his work.

We started out with a neglected, old and not very special piano which I 'inherited' from my brother and I was almost embarrassed to ask Nigel to tune it as I believed it hadn't been tuned for many, many years and had been moved often. However three or four tunings later we have an instrument which my daughter said 'felt like playing a new piano'. Nigel was always positive and courteous and gave us good advice. I recommend him most highly, however 'humble' your instrument.

Nigel was asked to tune our church piano, an instrument that gets a lot of indiscriminate work, gets moved around a lot, and was badly out of tune. The work Nigel did on the piano was excellent and the transformation of the sound and action was amazing. He also gave us some information about the beginnings of wear that we may one day need to address, and also advice on the best way to move the piano around, if that must be the practice. Totally delighted with the outcome.

I have used Nigel as my piano tuner for several years now. He does a very thorough and professional job, and knows to arrive with the tools and glues required to fix whatever broken keys or lid screws I am bound to have. He obviously cares about the individual instrument, which is why he does such a pleasing job.
