Spoke with Stephen to run though my Self-Assessment. He was very knowledgeable, explained everything clearly, and gave me sound advice on records to keep going forward. Would highly recommend!

Absolutely shocking service from Stephen Ward. I needed a business to file my tax returns as I didn’t have the time to do them myself as the business grew. Months have passed now and money taken on a monthly basis but zero work had been completed and trying to get a response from anyone took weeks/ months… Out of sight, out of mind. After finally getting a response via email and a full refund offered, I’ve still not received my money back. Stay well away from this company. You have been warned.

Callan Accountancy set-up my business account, handled all communication with Company House, compiled and calculated all returns for HMRC including VAT and Corporation tax in a timely manner. They were for myself, quite personal as there were professionals from each department who dealt with me. They were always very efficient and I would have no problem at all in recommending them to future customers.

I have used Callan accountancy for 2 years now to process my seafarer's tax claim. They have been extremely easy to deal with and have processed both claims in a speedy fashion. Happy to continue to use them as they are very reasonably priced.

After being recommended to use Callan Accountancy over 15 years ago, I can honestly say it has been the best decision I have made. He helped me through the first years of business, getting my accounts organised and showed me that it is not as daunting as I previously presumed (which as a new business man helped relieve a large amount of stress). Over the years I have tried and tested several accountancy firms. I will be totally honest when saying from the first day to presently I am been more than looked after from Stephen, Stephanie and all the staff. Sharp book keeping and paperwork was never my best asset - however through Stephen I have managed to get my act together and as a result am seeing the benefits - even allowing my wife some more money for shop keeping, i. E Handbag shopping! I.

I chose to have a company such as you do my tax returns for me. I find it time consuming and tiresome. I do not have a large income, but does consist of foreign income on our house in Spain. The Spanish tax system is bad enough to understand, so I leave the GB Tax to you. I am satisfied with what you do and trust you do it correctly. I do have one concern and that is that each year I get a demand from the taxman to pay a lump sum. I would have thought that you would take care of that for me, but it appears not to be the case. Paying a fee each month to you would take care of getting my tax right to start with without me having to find a lump sum each year.

Have been with Callan for 7 months with only minor issues at initial set up due to previous agents which Callan sorted promptly on my behalf Have recommended to friends and colleagues.

I started my Electrical Contracting business in Feb 2015 and got in touch with Stephen around November of the same year. Being new to running a business can be a bit daunting especially everything related to HMRC, however Stephen clearly explained the tax side of things to me and the company as a whole have been great ever since. My first year's accounts were filed on time and the team at Callan always let me know what I need to do and when I need to do it. They also offer me advice when I need it and are a very helpful and professional company to have by your side. I have used this company to prepare my tax returns and always found them very reasonable and down to earth.

We will keep it simple and say can't do without their support.

My brief history with Callan, all of which can be evidenced. First couple of years, fine. Then asked by Stephen to post positive reviews to counteract negative feedback by others. Found out I was being charged for a service I wasn't receiving. Received aggressive emails when I queried this. Suddenly was forced to pay up front because I was "receiving a service throughout the year". Requested advice on several occasions. No reply. No acknowledgement. No advice. Big phone bill due to repeated calls to HMRC to get advice I was paying Callan to give. Sent info for company return 2015-16 in May 2016. Had discussions with Callan in June to refine detail. Contacted Callan many times throughout December 2016 expressing concern about not having received accounts for filing. No acknowledgement. No response. No accounts. Received letters from Companies House and HMRC telling me my accounts are almost due and if not filed on time will result in a penalty fine plus interest. Contacted Callan many times in early January. No acknowledgement. No response. No accounts. Finally received a response on January 9th, stating the matter would take a short time to look into and I would receive clarification that week. One day before the deadline, Stephen provides the information and tells me it was done in September. The short time he said it would take to ideal with this turned out to be 21 days.
