Andrew was very helpful in discussing the options for our build, what would work and what wouldn't. Andrew was always very responsive to queries and timely with the plans when changes were made.

We've had 2 extensions designed by Andrew now and on both occasions we have found Andrew to be extremely helpful and knowledgeable, providing great ideas and designs. All work with Bristol Council has been handled well, pushing through planning and building regulations approval with minimal hassle. All round great service and value. Highly recommended.

Despite the Pandemic Andrew Hirst of Cadplan has efficiently managed the planning phase of our renovation, from our initial brief right through to final approval from building regulations. The process has been smooth and timely and we have found having Andrew's experience in the dealing with the process very reassuring. We were referred to Andrew by our builder and couldn’t have asked for a better service! Andrew designed our upward extension and guided it through the planning process which was not straight forward as we started at the same time as new Government guidelines being released regarding permitted development. We had an idea about what we wanted to do with the space and Andrew brought it to life with a set of impressive drawings. The Class AA Prior Approval was agreed followed by subsequent planning permission to put in place roof winds and vaulted ceilings, both of which we wanted to have from the start but were restricted by permitted development guidelines. Andrew dealt with the North Somerset planning department on our behalf, answering any questions they had to ensure a quick and more importantly (for us! ) positive response to our application. The communication from Andrew was good and he kept us in the loop on how things were progressing through the whole of the application process. Overall, the process with Andrew was smooth, personable and very professional and I would have no issues in recommending his services. Andrew and the team have been great and have supported and guided us through our first extension (a single story wrap around c. 40sqm). His personable qualities have helped us shape our project, along with simplifying the technical aspects and talking us through the stages, he was also able to recommend great local tradesmen to support the project from start to finish. Andrew was recommended by our builder, and we asked him to design our kitchen extension. Andrew had some great design ideas including a full length window set at a 45 degree angle on one of the corners. Andrew oversaw the planning process, and we were able to use his network for some of the technical aspects of the design (structural engineer). We are delighted with the results and the thoughtful design has added a huge amount to our family living space. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Andrew's services to others, and would work with him again in the future.

Andrew drew up plans for a loft extension. He was very professional, helpful and approachable. He answered all our questions in a way that was easy to understand. Andrew did the plans for an extension which is currently being built. He was willing to make changes to make sure it fitted with our requirements. The initial work was done well and we were pleased with the results. When the work started we encountered problems with drainage which weren't foreseeable. Andrew has stepped in again to help out liaising with the builders directly which has been a massive help. Would definitely recommend.
