I first contacted Gary at BrokenPC back in 2017 when the CPU broke crashing my PC. He managed to save all the data and I then had the PC repaired at the manufacturer as it was still under warranty, then I sent the PC back to Gary and he restored the data and got everything working again. Fast forward to October 2024 and I'm still using the same PC and haven't had any problems since, when suddenly it wouldn't start. Each time I tried starting it up, the screen would flicker with a red/orange colour and then just close down. Although I'd backed up the hard drive, unfortunately I had spreadsheets on my desktop with months work on them that I hadn't backed up. I wasn't sure Gary was still fixing computers and I'd moved out of the area since 2017, but I messaged him on Sunday and he got back to me on the same day, and said he thought there was a good chance he could recover the data. We agreed for me to bring my PC to him the next day, and about an hour later he called to say he'd recovered all the data. Big relief! The PC had crashed because the hard drive had got overloaded, then essentially had a meltdown of my computer! I exchanged a number of messages with Gary throughout the day as he completely re-built my computer, also managing to restore Microsoft Outlook, as well as installing a bigger hard drive. Gary of BrokenPCHerts has assisted me twice with transferring all data and apps from a faulty pc to a replacement. In both cases the work was completed successfully in a timely manner and throughout he has been professional and easy to deal with. The overall cost was also very reasonable.

Gary was able to assist me in upgrading my computers hardware, I generally have decent knowledge on what parts to buy but I needed a professional to replace the parts themselves. Gary did this in especially quick time with a good pick up service and gave me good advise on other hardware upgrades.

My Laptop got a bad virus and was unusable, called Gary from Brokenpc Herts and he came round pick up the laptop the same day. Got it back two days later with the virus removed and the laptop updated with the latest software installed. Saved all my files and hard work. Gary was an absolute superstar. Sorted my computer issues in two days, he knew I had a deadline and got my laptop back to me in time. Issues with downloading new updated software, after many conversation with the software company, they told me to contact a computer expert and that is exactly what I found in Gary. Professional, trustworthy and a all round bloody nice bloke.

Gary really got me out of the ever deepening hold I was digging for myself as I tried to load software onto my already overloaded PC. I had potentially lost 6 months worth of AutoCAD drawings. After calling Gary (Wednesday) he collected my PC the same day. On the Thursday Gary telephoned with the problem, the reason and the solution. Although initially bad news the solution was a very positive and a very reasonable price. On Saturday morning I was telephoned to say my urgent data had been recovered, joy! Gary returned my PC, set it up for me, installed antivirus software and gave clear instruction. I've used numerous IT engineers over the last 20 years and I can honestly say Gary is a breath of fresh air. Highly recommended.
