If only I lived in Brighton I would be there for every class and event I could manage. Those times I have been able to attend classes I am always inspired by Ellie to keep up with classes elsewhere, trouble is they always fall short of Ellie’s attention to detail and knowledge of the best way to get the most out of the class. I have been to 2 of Ellie and Holly’s retreats, one in Morocco and the other in South Africa and I’m so excited to hear that they are to be restarted…. I will be there if at all possible and recommend you join us, its a wonderful, relaxing learning experience.
After 15 years of excellent pilates teachers I still felt I was in a bit of a rut. This changed when I came to Ellie's classes! Her energy and enthusiasm are contagious and I have fun and feel challenged. In particular her HIT classes are amazing. To start with I really felt that they were a stretch too far for a 68 year old but she encouraged me to carry on. Now, despite finding them really tough, I can see an improvement in my stamina and I know that the cardio work is really important. As I say, HIT can be tough but no pain no gain and boy do you feel good when you've done it.
Ellie is one of the best Pilates teachers I've had, she knows exactly what she's doing and that everyone in her class is in the correct position. Her classes are always invigorating and give a good work out. Ellie is an upbeat and natural teacher who has lots of positive energy and leads by example!
I'm not very confident in my fitness level. And the thought of a group Pilates class terrified me. But Ellie at Brighton Pilates teaches her class so that you feel comfortable and confident no matter what level of fitness you have. Ellie helped me fall in love with Pilates and the healthy eating and fitness easily followed. And I no longer dread the word 'hundreds'. I fully recommend Ellie and Brighton Pilates.
Ellie is a superb teacher. She clears spends a lot of time planning her classes and she is great at demonstrating the moves perfectly. She has an amazing memory and will remember various injuries and ensures there are alternative moves if needed. Outside of the classroom she is a total inspiration providing advice, recipes, health tips etc on a regular basis. Can't recommend her high enough.
Ellie is far and away the best Pilates teacher around! Having attended her classes for a few years now it's obvious she's spends a lot of time planning her lessons in advance, all the movements flow together smoothly, she is innovative, motivational and her classes never get boring as no two are the same :).
I can't praise Ellie at Brighton Pilates high enough. The courses are well designed and varied. Ellie always takes care in watching that the Pilates exercises are being done correctly and will always offer adjustments to an exercise. I had a knee replacement a few years ago and since doing Pilates with Ellie has really helped my posture and flexibility in my knee. Ellie is so enthusiastic and her classes are a lot of fun too. Best teacher I have had and it has made such a difference.
I have been doing Pilates with Ellie for over 3 years now. It has improved my core strength and I no longer suffer from the back pain that I used to. Ellie has also taught me throughout my recent pregnancy which I found so helpful. She adapted the moves in the class to suit the different stages of pregnancy I was at. It was very reassuring to have such an experienced and knowledgeable tutor during this period and now I've had my baby I'm back in class again with the aim of getting my stomach tone back to what it was before pregnancy! I would really recommend Ellie's classes to anyone who is thinking of doing Pilates.
I've been doing Pilates with Ellie for nearly a year now. It's so worthwhile that I now do two classes a week, even though they require an hour round trip to get there each time! I'd been doing Pilates for a few years with various different instructors. I found it boring when I ended up in classes that weren't challenging and didn't have any variety. Ellie's courses are genius. Over 6 weeks, you really notice yourself improving in each exercise, especially when extra levels are added to make it a little bit harder every time. By the time the next course starts, you haven't had time to get bored. I particularly appreciate the amount of attention that Ellie gives to everyone in the class. She's always aware of any injuries, or just common sticking points, and helps you find ways around your problems, stopping you feeling left out from the class. Ellie's also fantastic at explaining the exercises, and where you should be feeling it. We're taught the names of things without getting caught up in confusing jargon. I feel like I've improved enormously over the last year. My posture is better and I'm way more flexible. I really recommend Brighton Pilates to anyone, of any age or ability.Moreexpand_more
I have been going to Pilates with Ellie for two years. It is one of the best classes I have ever been to. Ellie gives clear easy instructions and the exercises all flow so smoothly from one to the other. Ellie makes you work hard which is just what I need. The hour goes so quickly. I always feel better after. If I don't attend for a while my body aches more. I thoroughly recommend Pilates and Ellie as a teacher. You feel by the end you have exercised every muscle in your body. Ellie adapts the courses for different levels. Definately go!Moreexpand_more
I was recommend to try Pilates by my GP. I started a drop in class in a small studio. The instructions from the teacher were quick fire jargon. I was lost and frustrated. I then contacted another Pilates teacher who was very disorganised and again I felt lost. By chance I noticed a small sign pointing to a fitness studio tucked away that I never knew was there. I picked up a leaflet and emailed Ellie. She phoned back the same day and listened to me ramble on about my concerns. Then we booked a 1:1 a few days later. It was exactly what I was looking for. Someone to explain how you do the movements because I'm so not aware of my body. Thank goodness. I can now start her weekly class in a better frame of mind. Ellie was just how I imagined. Bright upbeat caring confident organised and supportive. I dreamt up exactly what I was looking for and found the PERFECT answer in Ellie. Thank you. It's so rare to find someone who is in the right job and Ellie certainly is.Moreexpand_more
I have been going to Ellie's classes for 1. 5 years and I have noticed a significant improvement in my body shape. Ellie continues to give instruction and correct your posture even when you have been attending her class for a while, to ensure that you are doing the exercise correctly. Alison Crofts.
I've been going to Brighton Pilates classes with Ellie for 1. 5 year now and it's very addictive. I used to say that it's the best thing that happened to my back, but I think I would change it to the best thing that happened to my body! Ellie is a great teacher who inspires you to do make that extra effort. Thanks for a great class!
I have been working wit Ellie for nearly a year now. I have been able to give up my weekly chiropractic appointments as my core strength and posture have improved greatly. Ellie is encouraging, sickeningly cheerful and really motivating. A really great teacher. I went on one of her Pilates retreats this summer too and it was wonderfully organised and just perfect :) Cheers Ellie :).
