About Briar Cottages
Kim and Fraser Proven bought Briar Cottages in 2008. The business promotes two self catering cottages with - free fishing, a steel jetty, slipway, 2 moorings for small boats, fun putting and a peatnque piste - for holiday weeks and short breaks in Lochearnhead offering exceptional views south over Loch Earn to Stuc A Chroin and Edinample Castle. The Provens built luxury self catering cottage, Briar Steading in 2010. The holiday cottages have consistently earned a 5 out of 5 rating from guests on TripAdvisor, Google and Facebook over 14 years picking up the Best Pet Holiday Home in The European Holiday Home awards 2019. The partnership is based in Lochearnhead.
Little Briar is a charming dog friendly 2 bedroom stone cottage that faces south with stunning views over Loch Earn to Edinample Castle and Glen Ample. Guests have the use of an ornamental garden and can fish from the 250ft loch side garden during trout fishing season March 15th to October 6th. The loch garden includes a jetty, slipway, 2 mooring buoys, picnic tables, 2 art installations that light up at night, a petanque piste with boules and cochonettes and 6 flag putting with balls and putters. A separate driveway leads to the cottage with parking for 2 cars.
A new kitchen was fitted in 2022 with a full fridge freezer and mini dishwasher. The kitchen leads to an open plan lounge, dining and kitchen area with modern comfortable furniture. The stone patio is fenced and gated for pet security with a artial awning. See the website for more details and availability. Luxury Briar Steading was built in 2010 offering spacious accommodation including a King size bed room with an ensuite bathroom with a shower and a twin room with an en-suite walk in wet shower room. The open plan living area is 26ft in length (including a fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine) and a wood burning stove. Full length glass patio doors lead from the lounge and both bedrooms to the patio and BBQ area, overlooking Loch Earn. Extra comforts include an iPod dock, WiFi, Smart TV with Netflix and board games.
Lochearnhead is an ideal location for outdoor and water sports, nature and wildlife, history and folklore. Within a 200m stroll of the cottage grounds, there are two hotels and the Loch Earn Wakeschool for watersports hire services including kayaking and paddleboarding. St Fillans Golf Course and Drummond Fishing boat hire can be found travelling East along Loch Earn. Sustrans cycle route 7 is accessed from Lochearnhead Village. Positioned in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, Briar Cottages are ideal for easy day trips to surrounding tourist towns and villages in all directions. Both cottages make a perfect base for families, romantic couples, sports enthusiasts, dog owners and anyone looking for peace, tranquillity, breathtaking scenery and fresh air.
The partnership was set up by owners Kim and Fraser Proven in 2008. Kim previously worked with W. L. Gore and Associates and Dent-O-Care Ltd gaining many years' experience in customer service and small business marketing. Fraser Proven has spent many years in sales and marketing within web printing and property letting sectors.
Briar Cottages is a member of The Loch Earn Tourism Information Group and The Federation of Small Businesses. Kim Proven has been Chair of Loch Earn Tourism Informaiton since 2014 leading the group to win 2 regional and one Scottish Thistle Award for The BLiSS art trail "working together in tourism" and for "Innovation in Tourism".0 FreeIndex Reviews
