Blackfriars @ The Ouseburn is a community centre and venue (registered charity 1053992) run by the St Vincent de Paul Society which is a voluntary not-for-profit charity dedicated to tackling poverty and disadvantage by providing practical help to people in need.

The venue is only 10-15 minutes' walk from Newcastle Central station with frequent buses that stop outside, and Manors Metro is only half a mile away.

We have a range of daily community activities that are also available at the centre.

The rooms we have available to hire are the Tyne Suite which can hold over 200 people, it has a large sprung dance floor and a licensed bar. This room is suitable for large functions wedding, parties, celebrations, gigs and conferences.

The Coquet Suite can seat 40 people and is a perfect room to hire for training courses, meetings etc. This room can also be hired for small children's soft play parties. This room can be laid out as a classroom or theatre style room.

We have room for 9 students and a tutor in the IT suite, there is disabled access and WiFi. Lunch and refreshments can also be arranged at an extra cost.

Every Monday and Wednesday we hold a Pay as you pleas Cafe upstairs in the Blackfriars Centre, we have Hot and cold food available, coffee and cakes. All you pay is a donation in our charity box.

On Tuesday we hold Vinnes drop in cafe it's a friendly environment where people who are homeless, in need, seeking support or living in loneliness can come along and be provided with free Hot Meals and drinks. We also are able to provide emergency food parcels, clothing and toiletries. Our drop in cafe runs solely on donated food products.
