I met Jeff this morning (3rd Jul '21) just before midday. What a nice man. Jeff understood immediately what was going on with our fiesty rescue Plumber Terrier Murphy. Before the session, we literally couldn't walk more than 25 yards without him either stopping dead and refusing to move unless he received a treats (Even then he wouldn't budge! ) or standing still for 15 minutes until he decided he wanted to walk. My partner and I have btoh had dogs before, so we know how they operate but this little man is 18 months old and a rescue so we were out of our depth a little - We wished these rescue places would have explained a bit more about rescues beforehand… Anyway hindsight is a wonderful thing! ). Hours and hours and weeks and months we have wasted doing what we though was correct, when in fact Murph's behaviour was slowly getting worse and worse. I could not recommend Jeff highly enough! Thanks to you Jeff we may have given up on him and passed him on to a foster carer or another home he behaviour was that poor. No wonder people give up so soon without ever seeking a professsional like Jeff. Murphy isn't/won't be cured over night but I've just taken our boy out on a walk 30 minutes after Jeff had left and it was honestly the easiest, simplest most enjoyable walk I've experienced in nearly 7 weeks since rescuing him from the RSPCA. Jeff has worked wonders with our terrier who is not very sociable and is now far more tolerant of other dogs and our puppy just loves him to bits.

Jeff has worked wonders with helping us to train our labrador puppy. He really understands her way of thinking and has transformed her behaviour with his training classes. His sense of humour and clear thinking attitude make him a natural teacher of both dogs and their owners. I thoroughly recommend him.

I have a rescue dog, he was four months when I had him. I took him to Jeff's puppy class on a tuesday night. First week I could not get him through the door. (Jeff did) This week our fifth week he bounded out of the car, into the hall with his tail wagging. A great class it has taught me to train my pup.

Jeff made two home visits to observe our two adolescent Scotties and advise us on how to interact with them. He was extremely patient, professional and insightful and communicated his experience / demonstrated his methods most effectively. We were able to enjoy almost immediate improvements! We and our dogs now really enjoy our walks - no pulling, no dragging, no barking etc. (The dogs are very well behaved, too! ) We will have no hesitation in contacting Jeff again should we need further advice. I have attended Jeff's puppy training classes and am now attending the 'improvers' class with my lovely but quite wilful terrier. I have been very pleased with the standard of teaching and the know how for ALL breeds of dog. The exercises are clear and straightforward and with practice (and practice! ) at home they absolutely make a difference. The difference between a dog that does as it pleases and one who listens and responds. I now have a young dog who really is on her way to being reliable and trustworthy. Just what I wished for! Who says terriers are untrainable? Go see Jeff, he'll teach you!

I have brought every training aid on the market to try and stop my rather large golden retriever pulling my arms out, but the best money I have spent was for an hour of Jeff's time I can't believe the difference just one session has made. Thank you Jeff for giving me a dog that's a pleasure to walk and not a chore!

I have been going to Jeff's classes at Bruton with my rescue Collie X puppy. The classes have made a huge difference as well as being immensely enjoyable. Jeff inspires confidence, has a great understanding of dogs and knows how to communicate his knowledge effectively. We have also taken our labrador to Jeff's gun dog training and those classes have been excellent and thoroughly enjoyable. Thank you Jeff.

The weekly classes in Bruton with Jeff were invaluable in helping me train Alfie to walk to heel, sit and stay, and behave well in all environments. Jeff was encouraging, excellent in dealing with all types of dogs and very knowledgeable. Classes were fun for the dog, and improvement in behaviour seen after a couple of weeks. I can recommend these classes to all new owners of dogs and those who need a refresher course in dog training.

Jeff is an excellent trainer, I cant thank him enough for working with me and my two retrievers. Walking them now is an enjoyable experience rather than worrying whether they're going to run off into the woods and never be seen again! The main revelation was that I had to be trained first! Jeff really understands dog behaviours and I would highly recommend Jeff to anyone looking to enhance the relationship with their dogs.

Jeff is fantastic as a trainer to both dogs and humans! In just two sessions we've managed to break some bad habits that our dog has got into, and break some bad habits that we've gotten into as owners. Its made for a more harmonious house, and everything is explained in simple easy to understand speak, and demonstrated in easy steps that makes the whole process fun rather than daunting. I can't recommend Jeff and BH Dog Training highly enough.

We learnt so much and thoroughly enjoyed the training with our Vizsla puppy. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Jeff, his knowledge, patience and sense of humour is brilliant !

First Visla puppy we'd had so wanted to try and do it right. As always the training was really for us, rather than the dogs who actually know what they are doing. Pointed in the right direction and fantastic end of course shoot which was a great success. Thanks Jeff!

Having recently moved to the Wincanton area and purchased a new puppy (A Sproodle) I was keen to start on the puppy's training in readiness for him to work on local shoots. I made numerous enquiries and the name BH Dog Training and Jeff were constantly recommended Having enrolled in the Saturday morning class Monty and I very quickly settled into the training and soon felt at ease with both an eager puppy and his owner who needed to be trained! Jeff has an immediate empathy with dogs and he really does possess the "Magic Touch" and is able to get any dog in the class to achieve the set test, by patience, understanding and helping the dog owner. Six months of classes now attended and Monty is so enjoying his training classes, mastered retrieving and even picking up a pheasant. Next week we put all of the training to the ultimate test as Owners and Dogs will be attending our first shoot and will hopefully be picking up Without Jeffs input none of this would have happened within this time scale and I for one cannot thank him enough for sharing his talent and patience and for always being there on the end of the phone for when the training at home goes pear shaped.

Jeff has been a god send for me, my 18 month old schnoodle and my son and partner. I was at my wits end with Beau after hours and hours and hours of time spent with treats, toys, different leads etc in trying to establish a reliable recall. He loves dogs and thinks he is well qualified to decide that all dogs wanna see him to play even if they are two fields away. Jeff quickly established that I was not a great leader and Beau thought in light of my short comings he would make the decisions about what he could do off lead. We started by working in the home progressing to outside in a day or so. Using Jeff's methods Beau changed quickly and became calmer (as did I) and more responsive to my guidance. Within the three visits Jeff has made to us we are all a lot happier, my son and partner especially as my frustration levels have reduced considerably and Beau looks to me for the go ahead before taking off to a far flung land to get his fix of dog play. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction with Bramble, she is now much steadier than before and all achieved in a calm and firm but gentle manner. Hopefully I will be able to do better this time round with new puppy Maia.

Della is my third Labrador, but one that showed early that she needed more guidance from a Professional. Jeff has helped me train her into a super working dog who responsive and obedient and will be a joy to work with on the shooting field. Jeff came to help with our chihuahua for a one to one session and got to the root of the problem straight away! Within 15 minutes he had our dog behaving and obeying! This man understands dogs and is great at what he does. Would recommend to anyone as it was money well spent and wish we had found him sooner - thanks Jeff!

Jeff's puppy training classes have become invaluable to me because Ted is my first dog. Both Ted and I look forward to attending them and every week Jeff has taught me clear, simple and effective training techniques that are easy to implement into everyday life at home. As a result, Ted is growing into a sociable, confident and well behaved dog. I would highly recommend Jeff's dog training classes.
