Well-structured and effective work for my team by strengthening collaboration, communication and motivation. A key component of the session was the use of the Strengths Development Inventory (SDI). This provided team members with a clearer understanding of their core motivational values and how these influence their behaviours, under normal conditions and during conflict. Participants gained insight into their own working styles as well as those of their colleagues, which helped to build empathy and reduce misinterpretations in day-to-day. The opportunity also incorporated small group tasks, which were practical and engaging. These activities encouraged engineers to collaborate outside of their usual working patterns, fostering cross-functional communication and trust. By working in smaller groups, individuals had more opportunity to contribute, which increased participation. From a motivational perspective, the combination of SDI and experiential learning was effective. The session created a safe environment for open discussion, enabled the team to reflect on strengths and areas for improvement. I was part of a group of 8 managers who took part in a 1 day Managing Performance workshop with Paul that he conducted online.
