Worked with Berkshire County Trailers on numerous occasions. Every single time the service was amazing. Very professional but also friendly. I couldn't recommend them enough. We are usually renting the T4 or the T6 and transporting a 2. 4T autonomous minibus. Great company to work with!
I did hire from this company twice last year so decided to hire again based on the positive past experience. Booked a plant trailer in order to transport my 400kg quad bike on it. Got there, paid £56 for it. The trailer was waiting for me at the back of the yard with the spare tire just chucked in a trailer. I have asked their technician ( dark skin bloke ) how am I supposed to secure the spare tire as it was not bolted onto the trailer nor strapped; he then tried to strap it but couldn't do so. Also I've noticed the tyre on the spare was flat. Since I was towing with my car with no tools nor jack for potential change ( car jack just wouldn't fit the trailer ) I decided not to take the spare wheel because it was unsafe to have it bouncing in the box trailer unstrapped. Went to Essex to pick my quad bike up. Loaded the bike and noticed one tyre needed some air. Went to inflate the tyre and what I saw just got me shocked. Wires sticking out of the tyre. The complete tyre was cracked to bits ( as per photo ). I stuck my head in between the wheels to check the tyre from the inside and when I thought I've seen it all, it just got worse. There was a whole tyre patch hanging on wires off of the tyre. Not only I was driving 100 miles to Essex on such tyre but I was about to drive back with my 400kg quad bike. Imagine what would have happened If I went to pick up a 2 ton digger for example. Called the office straight away and reported the issue. They started telling me off for not taking the spare wheel which was not possible to mount safely onto the trailer, for which I couldn't use my car jack/tools to install and so on. I told them this tyre in such state has been on the trailer for ages and the trailer was not inspected by them to be road worthy and safe to hire out. All they said was, trailer undergos the inspection every 8 weeks and it's my responsibility to check if I'm happy with the state of the trailer. In other words they don't care at what state the customer will get the trailer, and reserve the right to hire and charge for a trailer that is potential safety hazard on the road and for all other road users if the customer doesn't notice potential problems. So what I was given was, ticking bomb and got charged for it. I've asked to get my £56 refunded as this was not the service I paid for, because all the stress I went through on my way back was not worth it, had to drive 40mph in order to prevent blown tyre etc. Manager didn't wanna give me a refund, told me he will ring me back the day after, then was just ignoring my calls etc. So this is what you get when you hire from Berkshire County Trailers. They just lost a customer because of £56 worth of scam they charged me for. AVOID AT ALL COSTS IF YOU WANT TO BE SAFE !.Moreexpand_more
