The door to our stair door could not work due to the bricks holding door in place had crumbled. Emailed for an estimate and received one the next day. Even though they did not know we would use them Stephen very kindly put some temporary wood in so the entry system worked. The residents of the stair were happy with his quote and he made an excellent job of fixing the stone work on both sides of tenement door. We are all very satisfied with his work and will now be our first port of call. I would certainly recommend him. He also kept the area clean and tidy.

The kitchen ceiling repair was carried out at very short notice and they did an excellent job. They were also friendly and helpful. I would also recommend painter and decorator Kenny Buchan who painted the kitchen after the repairs were completed.

BBM recently carried out work on my property to the highest standard. They correctly identified the reason for troublesome leaks on my roof after a botched complete re-slating by a so called expert roofer who steadfastly refused to remedy the problem. In addition they did some first class repairs to damaged rendering on my house and went to great lengths to obtain a precise colour match to blend into the original render. Over the past 30 I have had the misfortune to employ a number of cowboy builders to do work on my property. BBM are the only builders I have ever employed that I am happy to recommend.

Steph and Alfie Buchan have been excellent to work with. They think through problems and take a pride in their work. We had roof leaks which had been ongoing for a number of years and had been unable to find a roofer who could solve them. We believe they have done so and it is such a relief. They come quickly, charge a reasonable rate and don’t charge until they have resolved the problem. They are very versatile and as well as roof leaks have sorted out painting and leaking downpipes for us, but they also cover a wide variety of other areas with their network of contacts. They don’t advise you to do work if they think it isn’t in your best interest. They are honest and reliable.

Stephen Buchan of bbm has re-pointed the stonework of my house, which dates from 1797, using lime mortar. His assessment of the work needed is honest and trustworthy; he is not one to persuade his clients to incur unnecessary expense and keeps to his estimates. He works quickly and efficiently and tidies up afterwards. He seems to take pride in doing a good job, is friendly and helpful, well qualified and knowledgeable. My neighbour, who has had interior and exterior work done by Stephen is equally satisfied and plans to employ him again, as I do.

BBM are a super reliable and honest outfit, and have proven to be dependable and ready for any task at the drop of a hat. They have real commercial sense and always look to do the best possible job for the least possible cost. Their work is equally up to scratch and I highly recommend them.

Used for 2 jobs this year. First, removing gas fire and blocking and plastering chimney opening. Good advice given, work carried out efficiently and cleanly, ready for decorating. Second, installing 3 inspection covers in bathroom ceiling to comply with gas regulations. Again, very good advice. Work done quickly and cleanly, results unobtrusive.

Work was re-pointing gable end of house and replacing mortar joints with lead watergates on the roof. The quotes for the work were clear and competetive, and the work carried out to a high standard. Won't hesitate to use this builder again.
