About Barefoot Leather of Bromyard
Based in Bromyard, Herefordshire, Barefoot Leather produces a range of handmade leathergoods for private buyers and retail shops throughout the UK. Established in 1977, Barefoot Leather offers more than 40 years experience of producing high quality handcrafted leathergoods.
Barefoot Leather products include English bridle leather belts and bags, handtooled and carved bags, pouches and guitar straps. These are supplied to private buyers and trade customers all over the world.
Barefoot Leather has an expanding customer base which includes gift shops (we make lots of pretty things including purses, pouches, belts and bags), theatrical costumiers, theatre companies and prop suppliers (we make accurate reproductions of period leatherwork), re-enactors (far too much lovely shiny historical leathery stuff to mention) and professional musicians (we make all kinds of instrument straps). We even make Morris Dancer's bell pads and straps for classic vehicle restorers (classic car leather luggage straps for Morgan, MG and more).
I commissioned Ray to make some bespoke pouches for me. Ray turned the order around quickly and they are exactly what I wanted, Ray did a cracking job. Cheers.
I ordered cuff bindings to give my husband's overcoat another lease of life. They are great, soft and easy to work with. I am very happy. Ray kindly rang after my asking for sewing advice - about five minutes after placing the order. You can't beat that for customer service!
Wow, fantastic experience from start to finish. I rarely write reviews but my experience with Barefoot Leather was a delight, which sadly, is so rare these days. I contacted Barefoot Leather by e-mail to enquire about a customised leather guitar strap that I could not find anywhere (unless was prepared to pay hundreds £££). Ray Hatley got back to me suggesting a telephone conversation to discuss my requirements. Ray's pride in his products and customer focus is immediately evident, he is very friendly, upbeat and happy to offer his professional advice…Even if it means less profit…Very refreshing! I decided on the design for 2 personalised leather straps which were designed, produced and in my possession within 5 days. I was delighted with the quality and design. However, there was a slight error in one of the strap designs, I E-mailed Ray…… who immediately took ownership, apologised and within the week I was in receipt of a beautiful leather strap designed exactly to my requirements. This…… How a company handles mistakes, is the true measure of the honesty and reliability of any organisation. Thanks Ray it is a real pleasure to do business with you. Pat Young.Moreexpand_more
I recently ordered a personalized guitar strap from Ray as a present for my son. I ordered it on the 14th March and it arrived only four days later. The quality of the strap is absolutely superb; beautifully crafted using top quality leather.
Ray hand tooled a narrow "Pioneer" guitar strap for me and the finished result is outstanding. I have bought 3 straps from Barefoot Leather and cannot fault any aspect of their service. I have no hesitation in recommending their product and their customer service is excellent.
I asked Ray Hatley to make me a customised leather guitar strap. I was very pleased when he telephoned me to discuss my requirements, and he made several suggestions which I agreed with. Soon afterwards I received my strap, which is superb. I have no hesitation in recommending this very pleasant man's work to anyone. Thanks, Ray. John HaleLincolnshire.
