With many years' experience in the dressmaking business, Barbara is a specialist designer dressmaker and tailor. She creates all types of made to measure clothing for ladies, offers a measuring service and performs garment alterations for both ladies and gentlemen. Established in 2004.
Barbara specialises in top quality ladies made to measure clothing including bridal gowns, bridesmaid dresses, mother of the bride wedding outfits, evening dresses, ball gowns, office wear and bespoke dresses, skirts, shirts, ladies suits, jackets and other outfits for special events. The customer’s ideas are styled, made to measure and brought to life. She can develop the garment from a photo, an existing item or sketch a design from a basic description and then make the pattern. Time permitting she will happily take a client to a West End silk and fabrics shop and advise on what to purchase.
A full alterations, re-sizing, repairs and re-styling, service is offered for both ladies and gentlemen. Barbara makes first-class alterations, normally quite speedily, to all types of clothing including wedding and bridesmaid dresses and can usually alter most items to fit. She also re-styles items that do not feel or look right. As part of her normal seamstress work she can move or change buttons, re-line items, alter collars, lift hemlines, fit new zips, linings and shoulder pads, shorten or taper trouser legs, close vents, or adjust arms etc.
Barbara’s clients usually work or live locally in London but some travel much further. They normally have been recommended by existing clients or find her via the internet. She also works with high profile celebrities, dignitaries and their partners who are referred by designers, stylists, magazines, Public Relations offices and Mayfair hotels such as Brown’s, the Dorchester and Claridges, which is only two minutes from her studio. She uses her dressmaker and tailoring skills to alter dresses, trousers, jackets etc for those who need to look their best for special events, such as a film premiere.
The studio is owned by Barbara F Pellumbi who has been a leader in the West End of London's dressmaking industry for many years. She is well qualified to design and construct any garments the client desires, having previously trained overseas and worked as ladies tailor for many years.

Barbara found the time to do an urgent alteration for me and I was delighted with the result. Barbara has skilfully managed to re-size my whole wardrobe. After losing 3 stone I found that none of my clothes fitted anymore and had to buy a whole new wardrobe. Luckily, a friend of mine recommended Barbara to me and I was so impressed by her fantastic customer service and of course the results.
