Avoid this man like the plague. He butchered my kitchen refit last year. If I could leave a negative star I would. I have photos to back up my claims. When I queried the 'finished' result he demanded the balance of my payment. I gave him 50% of it to show good faith and he never returned. I had to get someone else in to start again. The faults included a dishwasher fitted on only 3 legs so it flooded downstairs flat, wall sockets held together with expanding foam, chipped plinths fitted upside down, wonky wall tiles with patchy grout where it wasn't mixed properly, sub standard oak worktop when premium paid for, worktop not stained correctly with oil for protection, screws threaded on cupboard handles, wall cupboards not straight, gaps in plinth where they had been cut incorrectly, chipped panels fitted that strangely had circles drawn around them to identify the fault yet he still installed them, gaps in newly fitted architrave (also fitted wonky) and cornice not fitted correctly.

Andy Young supplied a quote to refit bathroom. He requested £700 up front payment to purchase a shower enclosure and tray on 16/01/22. The money was sent via bank transfer on 20/01/22. Andy did not purchase the goods or do any work and despite agreeing to return my money he has not done so. Andy Young is not a reputable or trustworthy tradesman. Please AVOID and don't make the same mistake. .
Response : I do love people who tell a " good story ", this lady( I use that loosely) messed me about for weeks. I never ask for money upfront except when it is needed to buy large unreturnable goods that are delivered direct to customer when there are no storage facilities as was this case. She changed her choice of goods which put me back three weeks waiting for Wickes to deliver the items she chose, unfortunately during this time I fell I'll and kept her informed as to when I would be starting . I gave her a date to start which she agreed to and at that point would be ordering the goods to be delivered for the same day. I confirmed the previous day to start date at 9.30am and all was fine ,I arranged my labourer and bought several items prior to commencing work on the agreed day. 1pm get a phone call telling me she's not going ahead and demanded return of her deposit !At that point I felt extremely angry as such felt she should share some of my pain so delayed returning her payments couple of days( a bit bitchy I know but.).I would of returned her money within three days but getba notice from my bank that they'd frozen my account as she had reported I'd stolen her money ! ,clearly not the case. It took another week to get this sorted out at the bank then replayed her .Moreexpand_more

Andy has just completed my bathroom and I'm delighted. Andy advised on what I should get and updated me on the cost everytime so no hidden charges. I changed my mind. Very impressed with his attention to detail and my new bathroom is far better than I had hoped for. I will certainly be calling on him for any future jobs. Andy takes his time and really cares.

From start to finish, Andy did a very professional job on our kitchen. The work was of a very high standard and Andy and his colleague were very cheerful and friendly. My wife and I had no hesitation in leaving the house unattended while they got on with the work. The initial quote was very competitive and he gave me very good communication on how he would handle the project and how long he expected it to take. I have already asked him to do some further work. I would not hesitate to recommend him.

After being badly let down by another kitchen fitter, I contacted andy from AY installations and he came to see me the next day. I explained that I was given a 'used kitchen' and he re-assured me that he could produce a nice kitchen from all the cabinets and doors that I had scattered in my house. He was also able to fit in a quick start date as there was a degree of urgency in my project. On the start date, andy arrived on time and got on with the job immediately. Andy fixed all of my dodgy plumbing, plastering, electrics and tiling too. Throughtout the whole project, andy kept the site clean after every working day. I found him to be very courteous, professional and incredibly knowledgeble. Nothing was too much trouble for him. The end result is I now have a beautiful looking kitchen which has received alot of compliments already. I would like to thank andy and his colleague for all their hard work and have absolutely no hesitation in recommending his services to my friends and family members.Moreexpand_more

Andy was very prompt to quote for the job and I found it very reasonable. The work carried out was very good and I was very pleased with the result. I had a kitchen unit fitted with a belfast sink and some tiling. Andy supplied a beautiful oak work top. I would definitely have Andy back to do more work.
Response : Thanks for the feedback, it's much appreciated look forward to hearing from you in the future. Andy.

We asked Andy to update our utility room in November 2012. Although we had some idea of what we were looking to achieve, it is a small area and we therefore needed someone who would be flexible and make the best use of the available area. It involved a fair amout of carpentry as we only had space for one standard kitchen unit. We were extremely pleased with the work done - the job was finished on time and budget. As a result, we asked Andy to come back in January / February this year to refresh our kitchen which was looking a bit tired. Again, the job involved a mix of skills (decorating, carpentry, tiling and electrical work) and again we were very pleased with the end results.

Our kitchen was completed four months ago and we are delighted with the result and with the service and quality of work from AY Installations. The project was completed on time and on budget. The advice on getting the right components and suppliers was first class. For us, the stand out features were the excellent project management which meant everything went so well and the quality of the workmanship. Overall, highly recommended Chris and Melissa Thomas, Brighton.

We managed to get Andy after reading other peoples posts on here and we felt he might be the right one for us, since we’ve been trying for nearly three years for our bathroom to be done, and in the last three years we got too many quotations. Some were reasonable and most unrealistic. Above all no one was really keen to do the job for our bath to be replaced since the bath we had was really old in an old building, it was really difficult plumbing and tiling to work with we thought just to put some feedback about Andy because not only his quotation was very good but also he did a great job with peace of mind because he kept us informed all the way with real good planning from start to finish and no mess whatsoever created while he was working because the bathroom which is in an apartment with restricted rules to keep the building tidy and clean at all times. In our apartment we only have one bathroom and Andy managed to do the bathroom to a high standard while we accommodated the apartment and never had to leave the apartment, so there was always access. Finally the finish of tiling was made to a really good, high standard this is the least we can say about Andy, Thank you Andy and Jake.

Ay fitted my bathroom. Andy worked exceptionally well given the fact I did change my mind twice on the taps I chose, finally settling on his choice. I'm extremely pleased with the service, they were clean, reliable and hard working and best of all was the price. Thank you.

AY fitted my bathroom in november 2010. After calling my husband name for getting the wrong bath, the work started while we were on holiday, we came back to find the bungalow full of dust and the bath with a small hole on the side(which was repaired but its not the same). Andy then tried to fit an extractor but could not make it work, I was told his son would come round to fit a new extractor, after numerous phone calls to ask for this extractor to be fitted, I decided after 4 months to get an electricien to do it at my own cost. Few months ago, i came home to find the bathroom all steamed up, this was due to a leak in the plumbling under the bath(i felt sick when the reputable plumber took the bathroom apart, this cost me £238. 20, now, I just find out that there is another leak behind the toilet, again due to bad plumbling( plastic pipes to copper to iron pipes which is not right)This bathroom cost me £5000 and is in a bad shape, cupboards not straight and falling apart due to not having extractor for so long and due to the leaks. I m sorry, I would not ever recommend this company, please Andy there is no excuse as I have the proof of what I written in this review meaning the bills of the repairs.
Response : I am disgusted at this reviewers attitude which is simply "slanderous". We called these people friends for many years and before commencing with the job gave him a list of items to purchase, unfortunately Mr Worall always thinks he knows best and despite my advice bought a bath "off the back of a lorry"which was completely unuseable as it was the wrong size. I then,at short notice had to arrange delivery of a suitable bath which incidentally he has yet to pay for in full. As we were "friends"at the time we took this job on at short notice worked from Saturday - Sunday to get the job done without any infringement of there lifestyle for "mates rates" and also installed under floor heating as a present free of charge. The chip on the side of the fully installed bath did occur after they pressurised us at the end of the job by arriving home 3 hours earlier than expected and was repaired by Magic Man a professional repair company which in fact cost me £140.With regard s to the extractor, all the electrics were installed by my son who along with his business partner at the time is a part P city and guilds qualified electrician and after the original fan failed I,as she well knows left a replacement to be fitted by him,as I am not a qualified electrician,at her convenience unfortunately she is an extremely difficult person to pin down for a time and to my knowledge my son contacted her four times but could not find a suitable time for her. The fan was as I understand installed by her husbands friend a short time later. I strongly refute her claims that any cupboards were damaged due to this and that they were incorrectly fitted, also as any plumber knows there is no earthly reason you cannot mix speedfit with copper, these products have been extensively used over the past 25 years and it would be unusual to not have this product in almost every house in the land. I can conclude with reiterating my disgust at ever having had the misfortune to know or do work for such deplorable people.Moreexpand_more

AY hung a chandelier, replaced a broken bathroom fan & boxed out fuse box in hallway. Andy and Steve were punctual, friendly and helpful as per the last time we used AY. Andy struck a problem whilst hanging the chandelier but resolved it quickly with a safe and secure fix. This is the second time we have used this company and wouldn't hesitate to do so again.

The bathroom, kitchen and roof of the conservatory needed work. After the initial consultation work began promptly, with Andy and Steve having both a professional and caring attitude. The work is of a high standard and they are both clean, tidy and polite. I would not hesitate to recommend YP Installations. They're cool!

Andy and his team recently completed a washroom refurbishment for us. The room was very damp and in a real mess from several temporary botch jobs. Andy was very straight forward in his approach and knowledgeable about what needed done and how to do it. Even when additional unexpected work was needed, they didn't complain or over charge us. They were a pleasure to have around and always showed up and cleaned up when they said they would. They were tidy and looked after our property while they worked. We left them to it while we went on holiday for a week and had no worries about doing so. The work was completed to a very high standard and even when the total amount had been paid for the work and we needed the cistern on the toilet adjusted, Andy came back to sort it for us without any complaint or fuss. I have no trouble in recommending Andy and his team and will definitely use them again if we have more work.Moreexpand_more

Andy undertook a complete kitchen re-fit for me which along with installation of new units included plastering, updating of the electrics, new plumbing and tiling. Andy, Steve and others worked to a very high standard and I am very pleased with the final result. They also took care in ensuring that cream carpet in the hall came through unscathed and that all rubbish was cleared away promptly. I would be more than happy to use Andy's services again in the future.

Andy and Steve his true right-hand man Steve both TOP quality craftsmen TO SAY THE LEAST , Andy is totally knowledgeable and experienced ,they really put themselves out to do all they could and by jove they came upon a few problems that we very knew about that the previously owners did[cowboys. Andy was a stubborn man as we found out when paying via on-line banking payments the error was due to the not knowing how long it would take to pay him this way[he must of known that but trying to explain was his faulty /undoing he was unfair that even my wife tried to explain but he would not listen but to say where`s may money, not at any time did we refuse to pay, only he just would not listen and let us say why, even over the telephone. Andy, thank you and Steve for your wonderful skills your hard work we are really proud to of passed your pathway ,we really mean this ,your skills are second to none . Sorry this was the only thing that got in your way . Wish it hadn't. Great Guy Great JOB . WOULD RECKCOMMEND HIM HIGHLY TO ONE ONE . Andy cheers.
