Athena Magazine is a free online magazine for Devon-based women in business. It's packed with inspiring stories, expert advice, and practical tips from female-led businesses across Devon.

Athena Magazine was founded by Fran Minifie and Stacey Sheppard, two Devon-based women in business, who created the magazine to give a voice to the brilliant female-led businesses of Devon.

We believe in the power of community, connection, and celebrating success - and that’s exactly what you’ll find in every issue. We aim to empower, inform, and inspire the amazing women in business across Devon by offering relatable role models, offering practical business tips and small business advice for women.

Athena Magazine is the passion project of Fran Minifie and Stacey Sheppard, two women in business in South Devon, who saw a real gap for women in business in Devon. Both work closely with female-led businesses in different ways - Stacey through her coworking space and Fran through photography, marketing and mentoring - and both kept hearing the same thing: “Where can I find support, advice, and people like me? ”.

We were constantly being asked for recommendations, business advice, contacts, funding info and events to help local women grow their businesses. And while there’s a brilliant network of women in Devon, it wasn’t always visible or accessible.

The Magazine is packed with brilliant articles showcasing some of the incredible businesses run by women here in Devon. It features real life stories of their experiences (both positive and negative) as well as articles giving tips of marketing, finance, legal and so much more. The magazine also features a directory of useful businesses owned my women in Devon, and offers the opportunity for businesses to advertise in it.
