Ashby Guitar Tuition

I have been having guitar lessons now with Gary for the last 3 years. He is very friendly and patient and happy to work at the students own pace. This is perfect for someone like me who struggles to find a lot of time in between lessons to practice. I've definitely made progress and hope to continue in the future.

Gary has been teaching me for a number of years and has given me the knowledge and confidence to progress from a novice to performing in front of an audience. A great teacher and friend.

Gary has been teaching me bass, and being an older student I find his patience and style of teaching suits me perfectly. I have had other teachers in the past but Gary is spot on and I am very happy with my progress.

Before Gary, I taught myself - from the internet to books - but I felt like I needed to know more and the internet and books only taught me so much. Gary was recommended by a friend and he was right because Gary is a so meticulous teacher, but also a good adviser on the way individuals play. From bass guitar, acoustic, blues, rock and all that jazz, to lead and rhythm - Gary also goes through the music theory behind guitar and music in general; giving an understanding in how chords are formed. In doing so, Gary has influenced me to join my college's jazz band, and in doing so, Gary gives you the advise on how to perform live with patience and with experience. Gary will even help with certain songs to whom wants to learn. Even through my lesson are 30 minuets, many teachings can happen in that time, and it is fun - it is formal but feels informal - leaning something interesting. Therefore, well worth the money. Gary has widened my knowledge of the guitar and music, before I used to listen to metal because my friends listened to it and I thought it was cool, now I am listening to all sorts of music and appreciate music in the way it makes use feel. I would not play guitar the way I do now if it was not for Gary's teachings, patience and advise. He is a very good teacher.Moreexpand_more

Gary has taught guitar to my son for a couple of years now and he has progressed to a very competent level. You will rarely find my son without a guitar slung over his shoulder (almost to the point of obsession! )and he can usually replicate a tune heard on the radio within minutes, just by listening by ear. Thanks for your patience, Gary: you instill a love of music in your pupils which should last a lifetime.

Gary has been a fantastic teacher for my son who is currently in his second year under his tuition and can play beautifully. Gary's tuition is rounded. Theory, reading music, chords and different techniques and styles. His friendly and patient approach helps impatient learners, gently guiding them to perfection. Overall an excellent tutor.

Top teacher and guitarist. Gary can teach all different types of playing, whatever type of music you are into. Very patient, excellent value for money, and above all provides enjoyable lessons that help you to learn at your own pace. Can't rate him highly enough.
