Absolutely over the moon with the beautiful transformation of my Ercol dressing table which was covered in paint and a mess. Mike is highly talented and has completely brought it back to life. It looks stunning. He and Isabelle are lovely and I enjoyed meeting them both and communication and progress photos were excellent. I cannot thank them enough. Karen Miller.
Mike restored my Japanese Tansu cabinet which has been in the family for a long time. Great communication and customer service coupled with a really knowledgeable, highly skilled craftsman. Can’t recommend highly enough. I’m really happy with the result and the price charged was very reasonable.
Our varnished pine Welsh dresser was looking its age and didn't colour co-ordinate in our lounge. Artabelle stripped it and painted it to our colour choice in a couple of weeks, arranging both collection and delivery. They gave us regular updates on progress which exceeding our expectations, as did the final result of their excellent work.
The work of repair, furbishing and refinishing my very old and worn roll top desk has been superb and bypassed anything I might have hoped for. The original investigation needed, with advice and quotes were very fair and responsible. Consequently the work required was carried out in good time, and all details met with care and diligence. I am thrilled with the result.
My mother’s Edwardian dressing table had been stored in a garage for many years and was desperately in need of extensive repair work. Isabelle and Mike were great to deal with from the outset. They really understood the sentimental value of this piece of furniture and the quality of the workmanship is first class. It’s finally on display in our bedroom and looks stunning! My mother would be over the moon!
We are amazed at the superb refurbishment of our dining table. Mike has stripped, sanded and varnished the table top, it now looks better than it was when it was new. We cannot recommend Artabelle highly enough for anyone needing any sort of furniture repairs or refurbishment. Many thanks to Isabelle and Mike.
I am absolutely thrilled with the work done on two tables and 6 dining chairs. I had collected the wheelback chairs from family and charity shops. They were not a set and varied in colour, also some were worryingly wobbly! Mike made them look like a set, a uniform colour and, where necessary, made new parts so that they now look like they belong together. The tables have a beautiful gloss to them and have been treated to last. I am delighted with the service. Mike kept in touch with me about how the work was progressing and Isabelle arranged the admin. They were both very friendly and made me feel valued as a customer. Good old fashioned service. I am already planning to save up to get more of our family furniture refurbished!Moreexpand_more
Superb service and quality of work. Our 1940s business desk brought over from Europe had seen better days but had great sentimental value and family associations. It had lingered a few years in a garage until we entrusted it to Artebelle who carried out an informed and sensitive restoration returning the piece to us and reconstructing it on site. Isabelle and Mike where a delight to deal with and we can not recommend their operation highly enough. Based on this experience, we have another sentimental project in mind for their attention. Delightful service, informed and expert work and fair price. We are very pleased indeed.
We asked for two 18th century chairs to be restored and were absolutely delighted by the craftsmanship and care to protect obvious use. From initial contact, collection and delivery coupled with Mike's personality and explanations as to what he had undertaken left us feeling as though we would continue with other furniture and give a strong endorsement and recommendation to this highly skilled, efficient and quality service.
Highly recommended! I wasn't sure if my old, cracked, and battered dining table could be saved at all. A few years ago I asked someone else for a quote and they advised it wasn't worthwhile saving it because it wasn't valuable (in fact, they even hinted… 'ugly' ! . ). No such rubbish from Mike! He fixed the substantial crack in the tabletop and then revamped the base to make sure the tabletop won't crack again. So, I am very happy to have my - now fully restored - chunky old dining table back. Thanks, Isabelle and Mike :).
Mike did a superb job repairing and renovating our 1920s walnut bureau and bookcase. A large crack in the side has disappeared, missing veneer has been skilfully replaced, new leather writing panel fitted, broken drawer mechanism fixed, replacement hinges, brass handles polished and all the surfaces brought back to life. We were delighted by the results and the bureau should last another 100 years! The service, customer care, keeping us informed, chance to visit the workshop were also great. Finally, the costs represented excellent value for money. We are delighted and recommend Artabelle highly. .
My mid-century G-plan dining suite was in dire need of TLC. It now looks like new; all joints secured and finishes revived and good for another 70 years of daily use. Mike and Isabelle are so friendly, helpful and professionally competent it has been a joy to know them. And we're not done yet!
I cannot speak highly enough about the friendly service, communication and most importantly the quality of the craftsmanship. Mike repaired a damaged 1850s bookcase which needed a new pane of glass and replacement moulding. I could not be more pleased by the result, which has brought back to life a piece of furniture that has been in my family for about 100 years. Thank you.
Many thanks to Mike and Isabelle for their excellent repair and restoration of my very old and ailing wardrobe doors. They’d needed mending for years but I’d been unable to find anyone able to undertake the work until now. The job involved changing the hinges (not straightforward! ) and considerable woodwork (plugging, cutting rebates, re-gluing and re-hanging), all done with painstaking care on site because of the doors’ size. Isabelle kept me updated throughout and I’m now a returning customer for repairs to old bookcase doors. I’m very pleased indeed, and thoroughly recommend Artabelle.
Artabelle restored our lovely artdeco style display cabinet back to its glorious best. Stripped and repainted inside and out, repaired and renewed all the bit that needed attention. And now it looks so beautiful, the real centerpiece of the room. Thank you so much for taking care of it for us, it can be used for many many more years. Would 100% recommend this company. Very nice people. Attention to detail was second to none.
