About Arom Dee Massage Therapy
Traditional Thai Massage that leaves you feeling good - Arom Dee!
Experience the incomparable Authentic Thai Massage in the comfort of my home in Colne.
The famous Traditional Thai massage, also known as Nuad Thai or Nuad Bo Rarn is a fusion of the Indian disciplines of Ayurveda and Chinese therapies that employs techniques that have over 2,500 years been refined by monks to ease their discomfort after hours of meditation.
Over fifteen years ago Monks taught me this ancient art of using my palm, thumb, fingers, forearm, elbow or even feet to apply pressure to specific points following the Sen energy lines of the body. Upon qualifying I initially worked in an up-market Spa but I was drawn to the use of massage to heal and as pain relief.
I was then fortunately mentored by a highly respected guru the downside of which was commencing work at dawn to observe and learn whilst he massaged the monks in his shop from 5am onwards.
I learnt a great deal though it takes many years to master the trigger points or ‘nerve endings’ (Nadis in Indian medicine, and ‘meridians’ in traditional Chinese medicine) that run through fascia which is like a cling film that covers our muscles.
A Traditional Thai Massage is a more active form of massage than a Swedish massage which is in reality an effleurage massage or stroking massage.
A Thai massage therapist is also trained to stretch a person with specific, assisted yoga poses. For this reason Traditional Thai massages take place on a floor mat and why it's sometimes referred to as Lazy Yoga Massage. In North America where it thrives as a holistic massage therapy, it's frequently referred to as Thai Yoga Massage!
I move all around and above my clients in order to access a wide range of angles over each part of the body: a feat, especially when the client is much larger than me that's either impractical or impossible to accomplish on a massage table/platform raised a few feet off the ground.
The pressure, tension, and motion or vibration movements used during massage improve blood circulation.
Stretching is combined with acupressure, and Thai herbal balm is applied to hard knots. Balms were reputedly used by Chinese Emperors centuries ago and there's many variants made from herbal active ingredients that afford temporary relief of muscular aches and pains whilst some are made for the treatment of tension headaches. My personal preference is a dark balm as I feel it has the most effective ingredients, but the lemongrass balm has a more agreeable aroma.
My back, neck and shoulders massage is ideal for cashiers, office workers who sit at computers, cyclists, drivers, golfers and benefits anyone with poor posture.
My leg and foot massage is especially beneficial for runners preparing/training for big runs or races, afterwards, and also as part of their regular/routine training programme.
I recommend my deep tissue hot oil massage for anyone who enjoys regular physical activity, or is currently recovering from a sporting injury.
Athletes training for an event and doing intense workouts may want regular massages to maintain flexibility and the healthy condition of their muscles.
In addition to athletes it's also ideal for sufferers of sciatica or lumbago.
With over a decade of experience I'm proud of my prowess as a massage therapist and able to adapt the massage to your particular needs: pain-relief, stress-relief, general well-being or for relaxation.0 FreeIndex Reviews
