Architectural Plans Ltd were one of three architectural practices contacted when my wife and I decided to extend and improve the front of the house and also provide a shower room. When I spoke to Iain of Architectural Plans as a preliminary I knew they were the one. Iain is easy to talk to and discuss ideas with. He produced high quality drawings from initial layouts for discussion to warrant submission drawings and on to final issue. Iain introduced a structural engineer when needed, assisted more than expected in compiling and issuing tender documentation to potential builders. Absolutely first-class service - a consummate professional. We had embarked on a project to join two flats into a single semi-detached property and were feeling out of our depth, having never attempted any home renovations before. Iain Penman came out to view our project and not only put our fears to rest about its feasibility, but walked us through every stage of the process from initial drawings to planning permission, building permits, and beyond. He took care of everything - he handled all of the preparatory and permissive requirements, gave us excellent advice on how to select a trusted builder, and provided a full package of all the architectural drawings (both on paper and USB drive) for ourselves and the builder to use. He also recommended a builder (who turned out to be phenomenally good), and liaised with both them at the outset of the renovation, and with the building standards surveyor at its completion. We couldn't have wished for more support - Iain was with us quite literally at every step - and his innovative design has transformed our home.

All aspects of the process explained in laymans terms. Finished plans perfect. Also the added bonus of having them all put on a usb stick for safe keeping. Very reasonable price for plans 10/10. I was looking for someone to assist me with my elderly parents extension and I was recommended (Iain) Architectural Plans from a builder that I have been working with for several years. Wouldn't have known where to start with any of our plans but Iain Penman came recommended to us by our builder and so glad he did. Like many other people we were trying to find an architect for our extension. We were recommended Iain from Architectural Plans by a friend who had recently used him. We had a fairly good idea what we wanted and with Iain’s input he changed a few things round and we are very happy with the end result. We wanted a rear and partial side extension and a roofline which would not obscure our back bedroom window and would have as little impact on our neighbours as possible. The result is we have a great extra living space along with a good sized shower room and utility room. Iain took full advantage of the extra ceiling height in all rooms and we now have a coombed ceiling in our living space with French doors making it a fantastic extra space. We would definitely recommend Iain. .
