Thanks Lee for your help. I was updating an old iMac, which Lee sent links for the parts that were best suited for my iMac. This is not the sort of thing I could have done on my own. He swapped my old hard drive for a new SSD upgrade. I’m very happy and would highly recommend!
Lee was able to diagnose the issue with my faulty laptop very quickly over the phone. He then sent me the details of the hardware I needed to purchase and arranged a time to install it. Great communication throughout the whole process and a very reasonably priced service. Highly recommended.
Lee is a wonder of the virtual universe. Dyed-in-the-wool longtime Macman is just what you need if you're going to get the most out of that Apple gear that you bought into: the ethos, the intuition and the marketing calling card cool style and intellectual provenance… But then forswore to get any Training beyond the shortcut key strokes (command Z mostly) and Time Machine security blanket. , Until. Until it becomes constipated with 50,000 photos and a need to review the nearly 40 years of their collection ( Mac SE in 1988, with a dial-up modem). My point is that although I only use 5% of the functionality of any and every application or is it software, the value of Lee is he lives and understands the evolution of the Mac from first principles. The extraordinary part of Lee's 20 years unorthodox non-conformity is that he brings back to earth the virtul fears of one's data, to the reality that with all the back-ups, firey walls and insecurities in this world, its actually the dog-eared photo that falls out of the recipe book from 1982, that holds the memory. Mostly a philosophical surgery session, with cropping of the ingrowing toe-nails, (or is that thumb nails) …Normality is a social construct and decdedly NOT what you need from a Mac doctor physician. Thanks to Lee, it's like having a new Mac again. My 2019 Imac had become pitifully slow. Fortunately, I discovered Lee online and contacted him by email. He quickly responded and explained what my problem was and what I would need to fix it. He even provided links to the spares I required. Once I had them, he came to my house and expertly replaced the worn parts and left me with a new Mac. Lee is a really nice guy who loves everything Mac. I have no hesitation in recommending him. I'm a great lover of the Apple Mac and consequently am very particular about who I select to repair my own iMac on the rare occasion that it develops a fault. There are many computer engineers who advertise their services as including Mac servicing but I have rarely come across any who have an in depth knowledge of the brand. I was therefore most fortunate to happen on Lee at a time when my iMac had developed a complex issue, only a couple of days before Christmas, which would have brought my work activities to a halt well into the new year. Even Lee admitted that the problem was a challenging one but this seemed only to make him more determined. He rushed to my rescue and a few hours later, on Christmas Eve, I had a fully functional iMac. To observe him at work - his skill and enthusiasm - is a delight, and I fully intend to make use of his services if I should have a future emergency.
Very prompt response to my initial enquiry and early visit to diagnose problem with hard disk following my attempt to increase iCloud storage. I ordered new hard disk which Lee fitted day after delivery. System restored from backup recording and iMac now running smoothly again - and a bit more responsive. He knows his stuff!
Lee really went the extra mile to restore my laptop to working order, and its data (after a third party had caused considerable damage during a routine “service” and new battery installation). He really knows his stuff, and is extremely good at managing technophobe customers like myself. Prices are reasonable too. Lee is a great find, who I shall be returning to for help in future, and I’m very happy to recommend.
Outstanding service from Lee the applemacmechanic! I needed a cracked IMac screen to be replaced - he sent me a link for a new screen duly delivered within 24 Hours and the following day (he was in the area) he arrived at my home and replaced the screen very quickly and professionally - he was also able to tidy up my desktop to improve the speed - nice guy and very knowledgeable will certainly use again! 10/10.

I called Lee initially to ask about a new battery for a MacBook Pro, a job I'd been putting off for 2 years because I expected it to be expensive. Lee wrote back very promptly telling me exactly what battery I needed from Amazon (which was a lot cheaper than buying through an Apple store), and came to the house to fit it the day after it arrived. Lee also then fixed my girlfriend's MacBook Air, diagnosing the problem as the logic board and sourcing a secondhand, and much cheaper, replacement part than she'd previously been quoted by another repair shop. Both Macs now run brilliantly, neither repair cost over £200, and we're very happy.
Great job Lee! I called about an iMac that has always been slow, and has got much slower since purchase 4 years ago. Lee immediately diagnosed the fault over the phone, despite no one I've spoken to over the last couple of years suggesting the fix. I've tried all sorts of software fixes, computer "cleaning" software etc, but to no avail. After a couple of hours Lee had changed a piece of HARDWARE, and got me up and running at a speed better than when the machine was new just over 4 years ago. My call to discuss this with Lee was a last resort, as we were about to replace the machine!
We contacted Lee recently, having found great difficulty in finding a local Apple Mac Specialist. He instantly recognised our problems and arranged for the order and installation of a replacement miini-mac. His service was very prompt and he is extremely knowledgeable about Apple Macs. We shall certainly call on him for assistance in the future and recommend him very highly.
Lee set up my new Mac, which I could've done with Apple's online instructions but I wanted the extra support. Lee was on time. Polite and friendly and did a great job, including teaching me some very useful tricks and tips. Very happy and highly recommend………Thank you!
Microsoft Office 365 on Apple devices. I contacted Lee Jones, AppleMacMechanic to resolve an issue with applying new Passwords to my two Email Accounts. The problem occurred as the recently new version of Outlook did not feature the ability to change an email account password. Lee resolved this efficiently and quickly by reverting my Outlook back to the previous version, changing the passwords. Total success! The face to Face visit by Lee resolved my email problems and during his visit he also made significant improvements to the opperation of my Apple MacBook. Lee was really helpful. Solved the issue quickly (synching between laptop and phone) and advised me on many other things too. He was patient and clear and his approach was very much to support me in finding my way and grow in confidence rather than continuing to feel out of my comfort zone.
Lee is a Master of all trades and a Jack of none. Friendly and efficient, he helped me with software, trained me up to use my Mac better and designed my PowerPoint presentation with me, all in two hours. Amazing! And incredible value. I only wish I’d been more attentive given that I’d travelled for two hours to get to him. Travel, even so, that was really worth it! Thank you.
I asked Lee for help after my iPhone was no longer pairing with my MacBook Pro since I undated to Sonoma. I had already gone through the usual (restart, delete the phone from hotspot and all that) to no avail. I had even been taken through some potential fixes by EE (my phone provider) and Apple support. All they suggested were the obvious which I had already tried. They were pretty useless. I also looked at forums and online chats where the problem was widely reported but (sadly) no one had a fix that actually worked. Lee came to my office and showed huge tenacity and determination to fix the issue and it didn't take him long! It turned out to be a simple network protocol issue that even Apple themselves appear to be unaware of. Lee also cleaned up my computer while he was here too. It's now working like a dream. I have no hesitation in recommending The Apple Mac Mechanic, he knows his stuff and is very thorough.Moreexpand_more
