Simply the best! Mel goes above and beyond any expectations!

My kitty was so well cared for and Mel really seems to love what she does! We were kept posted about how our kitty was doing and which toys she was enjoying. We were sent lots of photos and Mel was always fast to respond to any inquiries we had. So worth it!

What can I say other than simply the best cat sitting service we have used, and we have used a few. From the get-go Mel and Carly put you at ease and you know that they are both cat lovers. Our two girls being extremely precious to us and so demand the highest standard of care and attention. Mel and Carly deliver. We have been so impressed with all the photos and videos they send showing how much play time and cuddles our girls get. They bring toys and tunnels for them to play with and in, and spend a good amount of time doing just that. Normally, when we have come back from a trip, they are both rather sullen giving us the typical cold shoulder for a few days, but with Mel and Carly, it’s like we never went away. I don’t hesitate for one second to recommend Mel and Carly to anyone who really wants their babies looked after in the best possible way.

Couldn’t be happier with the service! Carly and Mel have been absolutely wonderful in the care of our kitties and provided an amazing service. They responded to our emergency call the day before travelling out of the country when our cat sitter cancelled on us the day before our flight! They were kind, understanding and efficient, and made everything so easy for us fixing the situation. Once we left, they went above and beyond not only to take care of our kitties but to communicate and update us about everything going on at home, which is such a peace of mind when you are away from your home and pets! Carly brought a full playground for them and played and interacted with them so much, taking a gazillion of photos and videos (which we appreciated so so much! ). I would 100% recommend them and we will definitely get back to Animals First.

Mel is an outstanding cat carer. She clearly adores animals and understands them very well and went out of her way to make my cat happy and comfortable whilst I was away. She visited twice a day, and looked after food, litter, and gave him lots of attention and quality playtime, and left the flat very clean and tidy. She is highly professional, experienced, efficient, reliable and trustworthy and goes above and beyond to make sure the cat is happy. She also kindly stepped in at the last moment in an emergency when I couldn't get back to Edinburgh in time, and that was hugely reassuring. She sends lots of photos and videos of her visits and I always return to a very happy cat. It is so crucial to feel like your cat is in the best possible hands - I won't be using anyone except Mel in the future !

Mel and the Animals First team really take the worry and stress out of leaving our beloved cat and home. Having used them multiple times, I have complete confidence in Mel and the team to provide excellent care of our Sam. Regular updates, videos and photos are sent and we always return home to a happy, contented cat. I would highly recommend Animals First for their passion, professionalism, ease of booking through their online system and complete peace of mind. .

Mel took great care of our 2 budgies - a first for her - sent us daily updates with amazing pictures. We came home to 2 very happy budgies and everything spotlessly clean. Fantastic job Mel - see you again in September ? .

Melissa has looked after our older girl a few times now, and we are absolutely delighted with how she looks after her. We know that Selkie is happy and settled with Melissa, and we love seeing the photos and films she updates us with. Selkie needs medication and an adjusted diet, and we can relax knowing that Melissa is administering these. We have absolute confidence in the care Melissa provides.

Mel has looked after my cat many times when I have been away from home for a few nights or for longer trips. She visits my house twice a day to look after my cat. She does more than the basic care though. She brings interactive toys with her and devotes time to playing with and cuddling my cat. Bella adores her and I enjoy receiving photo and video updates so I know she is fine and well cared for. My cat absolutely hates going in a carrier and in a car, so boarding in a cattery would make her absolutely miserable. This is a great service as it allows your cat to remain in their home that they are used to but have someone ensuring they are looked after. I will continue to book Mel to take care of my cat and have no hesitation in recommending her services to others.
