Animals at Home

We went away over the Christmas period, and the thought of putting our family dog into a cold concrete kennel over the festive period was more than we could bear. When we found animals at home it was such a relief. Mike explained that our dog would be part of their family and treated and looked after as if he was their own. It was more expensive than kennels but I believe you pay for what you get, and it was certainly the case here. Mike had our dog for the day a few weeks before we went away, to ensure everyone got along together, and all went well. I think it's important to take your pet to meet them first so it's not a strange environment and it gives Animals at home a chance to get to know your pet too. The day before our holiday we took our dog to check in, they even let me set up his crate in their large living room and stay until he had settled in. It would seem that he had a fab holiday, he had long walks everyday, and made new friends with the other dogs, and had a special bond with mikes wife, he is a bit of a ladies dog anyway! They have a large enclosed paddock for them to run around in and they make sure the dogs have structure to their day.Animals at Home really do care about the animals they look after and that really showed. Especially when we went to collect our four legged friend, he had settled in remarkably.I plan on using Animals at Home for all future holidays, and even for day care.I think it's nice that they have bonded with our dog and he has somewhere to go where I know he will be well looked after. As I said before it does cost more then Kennels, but I believe it is worth it because I can relax and not worry about our dog being unhappy.When we got him home he slept, and slept and slept which was great as we needed to sleep too!Moreexpand_more
