Based in Hampton Vale, Peterborough, Animacs Ltd are Apple Certified Service Engineers and consultants with 37 years experience, since 1987, with Macs - all the way back to System 5 - and more recently, iPads and iPhones.

Specialising in troubleshooting, repairs and upgrades. Same day local call-outs when available.

Whether it is breakdowns, networking, upgrades, data recovery or any other requirement to do with Macs, Animacs have the ability to look after any business and keep it running.

Preventative maintenance is highly recommended - it's better not to break down in the first place than to expedite recovery procedures.

Evening and weekend appointments can be available, just call to arrange a date and time that is mutually convenient.

Animacs Ltd has an expanding group of customers, based in the Greater Peterborough area, including local schools, printers, designers, publishers, artists, musicians, illustrators, engineering manufacturers and individuals just using Macs for day to day purposes.
Customers further afield can be found in France, Germany, Spain, Cyprus and the USA.

Certified by Apple in 2000 after many years of giving support to local businesses, emphasis is placed on prevention to avoid issues developing but equally at home rescuing sometimes dire circumstances when, for example, drives fail or data is deleted accidentally.

Responding to client's needs in the shortest possible time to ensure that any downtime is limited to the minimum as well as being cost effective. Whether it's an iMac, an iPhone, an iPad or any other Apple product, the aim is to make things as pain-free as possible.
Same day service is the aim for all repairs and rescues.

Products are sourced from a variety of suppliers with the aim of keeping costs and delivery times under control. Some are recycled or refurbished, some are new from Apple and others can be from 3rd party suppliers who manufacture replacements or for Apple themselves.

The company is managed by Tony Green who has been involved in Mac Support, hardware upgrades and repairs since 1987. There are very few Macs that he hasn't owned and none that he hasn't worked on one way or another.

2017 iMac 27" 5K died on Tuesday (power supply). Spoke to Tony on Wednesday and by Friday lunchtime I've got it back, looking like new, power supply replaced and as a precaution, the iffy Fusion drive sidelined for a new 1TB SSD drive. Very impressed and I fully recommend Animacs. Dom.

Tony was brilliant, responded to my email quickly and outside normal working hours. Great communication. Managed to fix my daughter's iPad after she trod on it shattering the screen and bending it. He was upfront about the issues with fixing but managed to do a brilliant job and saved the finger print recognition too. Quick turn around, reasonably priced would 100% recommend. Thanks.

Had the battery replaced in my old MacBook Air. Not only was he the best price in Peterborough, the quality of the new battery is amazing. Keeps charge for a whole day now as opposed to just a few hours. Polite, friendly and a great service!

Response : It was a somewhat fortunate that the exploding can of Pepsi didn't get through the keyboard, due to having a silicone protector over it, but it still did some significant damage! We were very happy to be able to repair the 2021 Macbook Pro M1 Max as it was a very high spec and very expensive Mac. We hate to write off things unless it's unavoidable.

Tony is literally the Saviour of Macs. After miraculously resurrecting mine after spilling an entire cup of coffee into mine, it now works better than ever. Tony is a very enlightened professional, kept me updated and calm, and at all times asked me before he proceeded with any costs. It doesn't get better than this if you have the unfortunate experience of something going wrong with your Mac.

I had my 2011 MacBook pro screen replaced, the really nice and very knowledgeable man replaced my screen on the same day for an excellent price. When I had and issue with the camera he sorted that out the next day and upgraded the operating system. Highly recommend!

Tony has repaired multiple Apple devices for myself, family and friends. We first met when he miraculously revived a brand new MacBook Air in 2013 which had ingested a large glass of wine via the keyboard and appeared beyond economical repair. Tony was able to strip it down, essentially wash it and return it to full function within 24 hours for a fraction of the cost to replace it. It still works as of 2022! The most recent job was on a 2013 MacBook Pro i7 I inherited from another family member. I received it non-functional, managed to get it going but it was always a bit 'twitchy'. It subsequently started crashing and throwing up errors before failing completely. On the journey over it was closed but had not shut down, as it was in a laptop bag it overheated beyond anything I've seen before and I had pretty much lost any hope of recovery. Again Tony cleaned it out, finding a sticky foreign liquid/liquids in the internals ( it was previously used by my niece and nephew) which he removed as part of a full service restoring it to health. As always his price was beyond reasonable, the work above criticism and I was given some useful advice on housekeeping my device! If you have Apple devices please please call Tony before going to some rip-off cowboy kiosk or high street shop, they often have no idea what they are doing, use substandard parts and unapproved repair techniques as well as cheerfully charging you more. My local shop offers 'Professional Mac repair and servicing' - when I spoke to the owner he told me he had 'always wanted to have a proper look in a Pro' - thanks but no thanks. Tony has more experience in his little finger than anyone I have dealt with at the unfortunately titled 'Genius Bar' and as a bonus doesn't talk to the customer like they are stupid or unworthy of his time.Moreexpand_more
Response : Thank you, David, after 35 years of dealing with Macs it’s highly unlikely there’s anyone still working with that much experience. I’ve never liked Apple’s wsy of doing business where repairs are concerned. The staff in the shops are incentivised to sell new products, not to repair them so they’re quite happy to lie to you and tell something is beyond repair. Either that, or they quote stupidly high prices to almost force you into buying a new one. Good business for them, appalling customer service. I first started using Animacs in 2010/11 when I had problems after installing MacKeeper on my Macbook Pro. After Tony's reiteration on my poor judgement in doing he soon resolved the the issues and removed the offending software. I ran my own consulting company and only used Apple hardware so it made sense to direct all my IT issues to Animacs. Over the years Tony has provided excellent support and reinvigorated aging Macbooks and iMac's by replacing the DVD with an SSDs plus other more standard tweaks as increasing RAM. I cannot praise Animacs enough and will not take my beloved Macs anywhere else.

I had been perservering and struggling with a grindingly slow iMac for some time and eventually decided to do something about it. A couple of folks both recommended Tony at Animacs and within 2 days my machine is back with me and working at lightning speed. Tony is very responsive to messages and offers a great service at a very good price. I wouldn't hesitate to use Animacs again or recommend to anyone with Mac problems.

My MacBook Air totally died over the weekend, I had been on and off the phone to Apple trying to arrange an appointment which was going to cost a large amount and also be in a totally different city. Thank you to Animacs (who I found this morning) it has been repaired and is back with me on the same day and all for a great price! Will recommend to anyone with Apple products! Thank you again.

I spilt wine on my MacBook Pro over a year ago, it completely died and would not restart. I took it to Apple for a quote to get it fixed and was quoted £1000. I Couldn't afford to get it fixed so it sat in the drawer for the year until I heard about Animacs, within hours of it being worked on I picked it back up and it was basically brand new for a total cost of £40! I am so happy and couldn't be more grateful!
Response : The logic board had a small amount of corrosion from the wine spill - Apple's response? Replace it. It just needed cleaning - not that the "Genius" would even try to find it! The screen has a small patch where the backlight has been affected in the bottom left corner - Apple's response? Replace it. Lucy's response? "I can live with it! "Happy to revive it without replacing anything at all. Well done Apple, covered yourselves in glory once more!

Thank you again Tony for fixing my MacBook Pro - as soon as it failed to switch on I knew who to call. Apple told me I would need to take it to the Genius Bar. I knew they would no doubt tell me to dump it and buy a new one, but this was the first issue I had with the Mac since I bought it in 2014! Tony identified the logic board needed replacing and got it done for me - I'm eternally grateful to have it back in full working order. Thank you again.
Response : Apple would have been more than double the cost in spite of it costing them far less than it cost me. I guess that’s the price of employing geniuses to do the work!

My Mac was showing all signs of being on the way out, it was slowing down to the point I couldn't do any task without constant whirring. I then realised that my back-up had not been set up correctly (by me) and I was in danger of losing my files. Tony was recommended to me and I delivered my Mac to him last Wednesday, he took it away and sorted it really quickly. He managed to get all the data off my computer and also put in a new Driver - (it took over 70 hours to get the data off as my Mac was so slow and dying! ) I got it back on the Saturday. I am now writing this from my up-dated computer, it's great and very fast. He saved me from having to buy a new Mac. Fantastic. He's very good at his job.

Amazing man took my sons iPad to have screen replaced and mentioned my daughter had a MacBook Air that had stopped working Apple basically said it wasn’t worth fixing but were happy to look at it for a charge and buying a new one would be a better option left it with this man and a week later it was back and working like new and nowhere near as much as what Apple wanted to charge. I now have have a very happy 16 year old as she had some gcse work on there which she can now submit towards her grade I couldn’t thank him enough and would highly recommend him.
