Alterations Studio

I first took my favorite overcoat, with the sleeve ends frayed, They did an excellent job by covering it with leather. Looking very dapper indeed. Last Friday 12th August 2022 I picked up three pairs of trousers. I bought all three cheap with cheap fly zips. I asked Alterations Studio to replaced all three zips with sturdy ones, increasing the life of the trousers substantially I would highly recommend Alterations Studio for an excellent professional service, very much like you might find on Saville row in London. Yes they are that good!

I recently took a bridesmaid dress to be altered and am so over the moon with the work that has been done on the dress! Not only is the work amazing but with less than 2 weeks to go until I needed it for the wedding they managed to cater for my timescale and for that I was so grateful! Would highly recommend and would use their services again. Thank you.

Since moving to Nottingham I’ve tried a few tailors, but I must say that Alteration Studios are by far the best in my experience. I’ve had a lot of clothes altered by Alex and his team, and the stand is very high. They are very clear in their advise and approach regarding alterations.

I am amazed at the skill of this studio. I took my second suit in for alteration. I must admit I didn't think it was possible to do anything with it. It was three sizes to big. I said it would be a challenge. Alix said challenge accepted. When I picked my suit up I couldn't believe it. You would think it had been tailor made for me. Alterations Studio are incredible - I altered my wedding dress, gowns, suits and everything in between with them for years. At 5’1, I can’t just buy an outfit and it would fit straight off the rack, Alterations Studio alter all my garments with such precision that I bet even the retailers won’t be able to tell the difference! Their honest and professional advice is second to none - I’ve actually been advised not to alter certain outfits with solid reasoning and they’re always right! It’s so rare nowadays for a business establishment to put their financial motives aside for your own benefit. Recently I moved abroad and had to come back with a stack of clothes for Alterations Studios to fix after a reputable studio completely ruined them. Not only were they able to undo the horrendous damage, they did it so quickly as I was only in Nottingham for a couple of days. There’s no one I would trust more!

I have had two items altered both a dress and a skirt, and the quality of the work completed was amazing. The staff there are really friendly, helpful, and professional. I would highly recommend this service for repairs and alterations of clothing.

I have used Alterations Studio on several occasions for more difficult alterations to several expensive articles of clothing as well as basic alterations such as shortening jeans or trousers. On each occasion I have found the people running this business to be very friendly and helpful but above all very professional in their approach to their work. The studio is cosy and well designed for carrying out professional fittings. Most importantly, the lady who carries out the alterations demonstrates an expert knowledge of tailoring techniques and is meticulous in her work, so one feels able to trust her to alter a piece of quality clothing and confident that the best possible result will be achieved. Highly recommended!

Never fail to impress! I found these guys by chance as my in-laws live in Arnold - I now travel from the other side of Nottingham to Arnold specifically for any of my tailoring. The service is amazing - their work is really fantastic. I have had skirts altered, blouses tailored - I just had my wedding dress tailored with them and they did an incredible job. Cannot fault this fantastic Alteration Studio. Had a waistcoat altered and could hardly believe my eyes when I saw the result, so very professional. When my wedding dress and bridesmaid's dress needed alteration this was the first and only place I went to, and wow did they surpass themselves. Don't go anywhere else this is the place to go, no job is too small.

I had my wedding dress altered here. They did a fantastic job of taking the dress in and also taking it up. It was ready in 2 weeks with a fitting in the middle to make sure it looked right. The price was great for amount of work it must have taken. They are a lovely friendly couple would go again! :-).

I contacted Alex with regards to my bridesmaid dress and alterations that would require a 24hr turn around. This is due to me living in Germany and my usual seamstress bring on holiday. I explained my situation to Alex who could not have been more helpful. Upon arriving at the studio I met both Alex and his wife and were so friendly and helpful. My dress was ready that same day and looked amazing and fit beautifully. So much so that my 4. 5 month pregnancy bump was barely visible. Dziekuje bardzo! This is a brilliant tailors and I'm sure there is nothing that they cannot alter. I had a bridesmaids dress which was too tight to zip up at the back but too big at the front. The alterations studio were able to add a panel in the back seam so that the dress now fits. I'm now looking forward to wearing it. Can't recommend this place enough.

Best tailoring experiencing I ever had. 5 stars!

I have been using this alteration studio for some time now , they are always on time with the repairs ,easy to communicate with and give exceptionally good quality for alteration and sewing work , parking is free outside on the road for 1/2 an hour and there are several bigger car parks nearby that are free for the first 2hours, I have always been very pleased with the speed , price and quality of the work.

Took a Barbour jacket in that was too wide around the chest and waist. End result is perfect. I can't even tell it's been altered. High quality. And a very good price. I'm glad I found them!

Took a long silk dress in that my daughter ordered online and was too big. Great service, was ready in just over a week and fitted perfectly.

Took a pair of trousers in to be taken up, they did a fantastic job at a great price, would highly recommend and will use them again.

I had a bridesmaids dress altered here in August last year. Unfortunate it was still too small 3 weeks before the wedding and the dress maker I was using at the time had advised there was nothing she could do to alter the dress. In despair I took it to the Alterations Studio. They took the zip out and created a panel down the back of the dress with laces. It looked absolutely beautiful, better in fact than the other 5 dresses. The service was fantastic, great value for money and very fast and the quality of the alterations was spot on.

Took my very expensive pair of leather jeans into see if it was possible to have them taken in more slim fit style, and wow ! What a fantastic job, excellent, I would recommend these guys to anybody, well done, thank you very much.

The first dress I took here, was a very tricky alteration as the dress was black silk, and very delicate. Not easy for anyone! The alteration was flawless, there was no indication anywhere that it had been altered. They have a fast turnaround, and are always very pleasant and helpful. I now take all my alterations here, and wouldn't dream of going anywhere else!
