It is composed of 3 phases :
Ku : Applying medicinal warm oil from Himalayan plants, absorbed through the skin, mobilizing joints and warming the body.
Nye : Kneading and pressure into muscles, tendons and into specific points and body channels, manual tissue manipulations, deep tissue work.
Chi : The final part, cleaning the oil from the body with barl.
To preserve and restore good bodily function, the Tibetan Medicine consists a range of other therapies such as :
- moxibustion, - stick therapy
- ventouses (cupping therapy)
- curative bath
- stone and shell massage
- use of compress.
