Had a problem with my beloved Brum brum, phoned the main dealer where I usually go and they wanted an absurd amount to diagnose the problem and quoted nearly £700 to fix it, did some internet research and found ACS who were close to me, phoned them (Simon) and explained the situation, he did not keep his first appointment due to illness but hey these things happen, re-arranged which he kept and arrived early that morning and he got straight to the bottom of the problem, he phoned around to locate the parts and offered me the best options and explained it could be the following days before they arrive. Later that day he phoned me to inform me that the parts were in and at a very good price and if I wished he would collect them and come straight back to my house that night and finish the job which is exactly what he did, he saved me over £400 which I couldn't of afforded at the time. Top man Simon, he did exactly what he said he would do but faster than he said he would and cheaper than what he said he would do, he advises you and lets you stay in control and does not give you any bull, will definitely be using him again if I have to, already mentioned his name to a couple of other people.
Well where do I start… I'm not a one for writing a bad review for someone but I do believe you have to be honest when you are going to write one. So I've moved to N. Ireland to here. I've haven't had any good experiences so far to be honest and back home I know a lot of people who workmanship and service is 110%. So I needed a simple positive wire from my fuse box to the rear of the car. So I decided I would get a auto spark because the last time I went to a Audio place to get something done they hadn't a clue what they where doing and I had to you tube a video and do it myself. Anyways this time I decided to read some reviews and choose carefully. So I came across Simon. All the reviews said where mostly ok except for a couple of bad ones about not showing up etc. Ok I said I'll give the benefit of the doubt and will call Simon and arrange something. So called him spoke about what I needed done, he sounded like a nice bloke and said pretty simple not a problem. Great! So he said he would have to look at it. We arranged a time and place. So when the time came I took time off so I could be their. Said he was coming so I presume that he was waited and no show. Ok the next day I call him and he said sorry got held up on a job very late and couldn't make it. So I said it would of been nice to have let me know as I had took time off and waited at the house and made no plans that day. A simple text or call would of been polite. So Simon apologised and said we would rearrange. So the next appointment came and I done the same took time off and called again like the last time and I couldn't believe it! Yes no show again. I decided I would sent a straight forward text. Expressing that a little courtesy and principle goes a long way. I received a text from him the next day saying that his Gran Father had gone to hospital as he had took ill and appogised once again. I fully understand in a family emergence you have to go you have to go. I respect this but was a bit skeptic to be honest as I had read a review saying something similar which I put forward to him. He said it was true another family member had been ill at that time as well. Appogised again as I was going to take my business elsewhere. Yet I know family taking ill and passing etc myself so I decided to let it pass and text him ill give it one more final shot. So he appogised and we arranged another time. This time I called him pre the time. He actually came and had a look but it was just to see what needed to be done. Says yep we shall arrange a time the end of the week. A offer of discount would be given he said as courtesy. So ok. Great. Come end of the week it was a Thursday we arranged so I called him in the morning on Thursday as what time he would be coming at as I would need to go out after 4pm he asked me when I'd be back I said 7pm give or take. Might not be suitable for him so I said how about Friday. So Friday was good for him although he did say that his work Van was going into get fixed and don't know if it would be ready come the morning time. But he'd let me know and would be coming at some point. So I waited till 4pm, had no call or text. So I called him and he said he was getting his suspension bolts done and would call me when done and would be here to do the job. 9pm and still no show. I sent a text saying AGAIN and a bloody joke. A reply from him was the van was still getting work done. I don't know what mech he's using but I could had all the work done by this stage suspension wise. Hell I managed to cut a whole fur tree up waiting. Summarising this expenerince. Completely let down and the lack of customer service proceeds me. Back home we have principle and it's a shame I still can't say I can get any over here.Moreexpand_more
Simon came into Huyton Terraclean Liverpool for a terraclean service on his vehicle got speaking to him and found out he is a auto spark. So I asked him would he look at a car for us so he came back the following day and sorted the problem for us with no problems. Top guy would recommend to anyone looking for a honest and reliable auto electrician. Had simon out to me again yesterday he fitted lights inside my van. Really is good to find a guy that knows what he is doing would deffo recommend to anyone. Thanks again simon.
Hi had probolems with halfords after having dashcam fitted ended up with no headlights as working be four they touched my vehicle got in touch with acs turned up next day within 30 mins they solved my problem it was down to inexperienced staff at halfords that messed fuses up and some relay boxes etc so 100% recommand acs 5* thanks (orange ford focus st)charming people also.
Had a nightmare with my Renault Megane lately, Green Flag and Usual garage I use didn't have a clue what the issue was. So found Simons details on here. Simon came to look at the car and found a potential issue which hopefully sorted the car, however a couple of days later the car had the same problems. Called Simon again, and as agreed he came back out to look at the car, and eventually found the problem with a dead wire in the ECU. Really appreciated the help and persistence from Simon in diagnosing and fixing the problem. Would certainly recommend his services.
Had a number of error messages on my Audi - main dealer couldn't initially sort and suggested further investigative work at almost £300. Simon came over and had the problem fixed in just over an hour at significantly less cost. Very happy with the service, result and price charged.
Car had a problem with the car horns not functioning. The dealer, namely Hyundai, didn't have a clue what was wrong and said I would be better getting a new set of horns at an price of £150 each plus vat! I was very sceptical and then took it down to a local car electrician. He did all the testing, and although he couldn't find where the problem was, he independently tested the current horns, which worked. Clearly, the dealers were wrong! After spending 2 weeks trying to fix the horns, went online and found Simons details. He came the following day on time, found the fault in 20. Mins, and had it all fixed in 40 mins at a very honest price. I would definitely recommend him as he clearly knows his stuff and will not mess you about.Moreexpand_more
Called Simon up on a Monday regarding a electrical fault on my motorbike we spoke on the phone regards a day to come and look at it he said Friday was looking good for him. Waited in all Friday and he never turned up so I texted him Friday evening and he never replied and still no communication of him nearly 5 days after the day he was comming. Poor service poor communication. Wouldn't recommend or request him again.
Promised to repair the Twintop and ring back but still waiting, full of broken promises and had the run round for 2 weeks. Took car to Lookers Prenton who sorted it out and charged £59. % Star Lookers.
My pride and joy - MR2 Roadster. My partner blew all the electrics when jump starting my car. Simon came over (and it was a Bank Holiday) explained what he felt the issue was, and arranged to come back. In the meantime thanks to Simon's diagnosis Halfords replaced my battery free of charge (Nice one Simon). Simon came back (when he said he would) and an hour later he had my car purring. With lights, radio, dash instruments. Everything. Brilliant. When I asked him how much. I had to ask again because I thought he had undercharged me! TOTALLY PROFESSIONAL AND A REALLY NICE GUY TOO.
I've used Si now for a few years. I buy top end cars like Merc AMG and BMW M Series. Initially I used Si only for some some remedial electrical jobs, then later used him to fix a roof of a BMW convertible which was inoperative. His work was so impresive that I can confidently buy cars that no-one else can fix and Si fixes them exceeding all expectations especially convertible roofs.
I dont like putting bad reviews, but I must detail my experience. Basically see previous review of Mrs Madden. I have had the same experience. Judging from the positive reviews on the site, I called him (He says his name is Dave, not Simon). I had faulty horns. On the first call, to his credit, he came on time. He said the steering connection was broke/expensive to fix and suggested to put a button on the side for a quick fix But just like the review of Mrs Madden, I waited Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday…. And when Thursday came I decided to go to another dealer. The dealer (Star Motors) fixed the issue on the same day, showing the steering connection wasnt broke and, for under the price Dave quoted (I paid £55 instead of £60 he had qyoted, I had to pay £40 for the call out fee anyway, despite no progress). Apart from the expenses, the thing that annoyed me was the poor communication. He would say, he "may come", which meant I had to stay home all evenings, cancel all plans. For a lack of communication after calls and texts, he said he needed a hospital visit, just as what he said to Mrs Madden… claiming that the phone didn't signal - but it did - as I heard the phone ring and be put on silent.Moreexpand_more
I called Simon regarding my car that had been off the road for 2 months, in this time I had purchased a cheap run around, Simon fixed the problem within a minutes and also diagnosed my other car. What a great service and a lovely genuine person. I would highly recommend him.
