Our property had original sashes throughout that had not been adequately maintained. Dominic and team were able to salvage the frames and replace rotten wood where necessary. The results are outstanding. The team were very considerate, especially working around other building works. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Over the past three years Acorn have replaced seven of the sash windows through our flat, renovated two more, and draft proofed our exterior doors. Their work has been first rate throughout. Dominic is punctual, polite and precise. He always does what he says he will do, and has been utterly clear on what can and should be done, saving us money when a renovation was sufficient. Most recently Dominic's team replaced two bedroom and one bathroom window. Simon and Emrys were great, kept the disruption to the house to an absolute minimum and ran to time. The decorators who followed on after them were very complimentary about the quality of the windows that they had put in, and we have found them to be a marked improvement in terms of warmth and draft proofing. We haven hesitation thoroughly recommending Acorn.

We have used Acorn windows on two separate occasions this year and we cannot fault their service and in particular the care and professionalism shown by Dominic and his fitters. In the spring we had four sash windows completely replaced with new boxes and sashes. The work was completed to a high standard, the soundproofing and aesthetic difference they made to our house led us to have the sashes on our ground floor bay window replaced. This work was completed recently and the fitter had to work with boxes that had warped during the 140 years they had be in situ. We are very pleased with the results; the sashes fit and open perfectly. In addition the painter suggested by Acorn provided a first class paint finish. We have no hesitation in recommending Acorn.

Reconditioned 2 sash windows and adapted 3 french windows to enable toplight to open. Excellent service and standard of work. The process was painless form start to finish. Very good communication both before and after job. Would definitely recommend and have done already.

Dominic and his team were first class - from quotation, design through to installation. Simon and Irmas were very friendly, considerate, thorough and reliable. The service was completely professional. Dominic was always attentive, visiting regularly during the work to ensure all was going well for us. The end result was better than we had hoped for - the quality, design and finish of our windows are excellent, and what a difference they make as regards noise and insulation.

We had our french doors replaced and cords and locks replaced on our sash windows. The work was of a very good standard and they had a professional but personable approach. It was approx 8 weeks before they were able to start the work, but they kept in contact and stuck to set timescales. We would definitely recommend their service.

I really loved my old sash windows, the way they looked, the character, the old glass. But there came a time when I just couldn't take the rattling and the icy breeze that blew straight through them any longer. Acorn were recommended to me by a friend and I was very impressed with their service and my new windows - which have retained all the character but are smooth and quiet and don't let the cold in. From the quotation to the installation and painting everything went smoothly. Acorn were polite, professional and pleasant. I would recommend to anyone interested in the benefits of double glazing without losing the character/looks of their original sash windows.

Acorn have done a great job for me, replacing 3 windows and renovating a fourth. Right from the outset the were easy to deal with, providing detailed written quotes and clear billing arrangements. The workmen who did the job were easy people to have in my home, they turned up when they said they would they were considerate, and did a great job. Use them!

We had 4 (one of them a large bay) and 2 casements windows replaced by Acorn. They offered the best value quote (their price was £2000 less than the others) form three suppliers we asked and they also had a shorter turnaround time. The work was done on schedule and of a very high quality. The window fitters cleaned up after them and made sure that the work was done on time and on the last day the outside painting on the window sills could not be finished (it was very bad weather), but they came back the next week to make sure it was complete. When doing the 'measure up' Dominic let us know of anything we would have to do and anything that could be problematic. If we had any questions or if there was anything we were unsure of he was always happy to answer our questions. When the job was finished he came and inspected the work, to make sure it was up to standard and if we had any questions/issues. We would happily use Acorn again.

Acorn Sash Windows’ quotes are very detailed enabling you to see the price of all the components that make up the design and manufacture of double glazed windows, including all the accessories, so you can decide which optional items you can do without and how much you could save. Different rates of VAT are applied, as appropriate – other companies may use only one rate. Dominic, the enterprising young man behind Acorn, is very thorough and meticulous in ensuring that the replacement is identical to the original window. He was very responsive to my requests for an additional guarantee and spray painting; during his final inspection of the installation he was honest enough to comment that the painting on windows that had been installed by another company was better than his, although to me it seemed of equal quality. He intended to get his painting contractor to improve. His prices were considerably lower than those of another well-established company even after I had upgraded his quote to match it. A minor criticism is that the installers were somewhat slower than those of the other company. They tackled half of the windows of our 3 story victorian semi. These windows were either jammed or unbalanced. The work took place over 3 days exactly on schedule. The sashes now all work perfectly and the top ones glide up and down easily under pressure from a window pole with hook. Meticulous cleaning up after themselves relieved us of any labour. Not the cheapest but well worth the small extra. Highly competant reliable firm.

Had one window replaced and two windows refurbished- Acorn were very professional, very tidy, respectful of house, always arrived on time, worked through the day till 5 and cleaned up at end of each day - it was painless - we have no hesitation in using them again.
