J is a wonderful craftsman and he is always our ‘go to’ for painting and decorating. He has completed a number of jobs for me over the last 10 years or so and his level of professionalism, enthusiasm and quality of work is really outstanding and consistent. This summer J completely redecorated our new home in Clifton and we are absolutely thrilled with the results. From suggesting options with regard to paint colour, finish and wood stains to fixing inherited imperfections, J worked in a safe, courteous and friendly manner throughout the project. I highly recommend J for both interior and exterior jobs and he is always an absolute pleasure to be around.

J painted a large bedroom for us and was very efficient and has done a first class job. Little extra touches like putting back the curtain rail and hovering afterwards were greatly appreciated as well. He's back to do a bigger job for us soon as a result.

J has worked for us on a number of occasions over the last few years. Recently he decorated our downstairs rooms, both painting and wallpapering. The reason we keep getting him back is that he is reliable, considerate and does a really good job. We have recommended him to friends and will continue to do this.

We are very happy with the work carried out. We had our loft room, stairs, landing and hall painted. I found J friendly, helpful and reliable. We will certainly ask him to quote for us again when we have work to be done.

I agree with all these reviews. J is great. He came to paint our hall, landing and open plan living/kitchen area. He worked around all our family's comings and goings (not to mention all our belongings) without any fuss at all. We're really happy with the job and will definitely ask him back for other rooms we need doing.

I thoroughly recommend J for decorating work. He painted the outside of a house for me, and interior painting in a property with tenants in situ. J worked around their belongings without any fuss and worked his own hours on a fixed price so I didn't have to worry about drying time between coats. I have A Fresh Coat of Paint firmly placed in my list of trades for the next job I have. It was refreshing to work with a decorator who was quick, efficient and had a good eye for what works.

Even though it was an outdside job that was very much dependent on good weather Jay called every day at 8. 15 to say whether he would be at our house to do the job or not. So we knew very early how to plan our day and there was no hanging around wondering if 'the painter' was or was not going to turn up which happens a lot. I would really highly recommend J - he gives brilliant advice, is ridiculously quick, honest, punctual, works around other trades people and is a really nice guy. J painted the whole of the downstairs of our house, including a new extension. He used both 'normal' and clay paint and did some woodwork. It looks lovely. He gave good advice about what to do about our bannisters and we'll definitely ask him back.

We hired Jay to repaint all the external sash windows in a three-storey Victorian house. Some of them were in a very poor state before he began, and he did an excellent job in filling and renovating them: they look wonderful now. Jay was very prompt, efficient, and affable, and we would definitely ask him to do any other painting work in the future and recommend him to friends.

Jay redecorated our lounge and diner involving removal of old wallpaper, repapering. Painting walls, ceiling and woodwork including new partition doors. I have just had my lounge, landing, kitchen and conservatory painted by Jay from A Fresh Coat of Paint. The standard of the painting is very good and the whole experience has been really positive.
