The Bridesmaid Boutique

I have 4 bridesmaids all of whom are different shapes and sizes and one will be 7 months pregnant on the day of my wedding. Therefore, for ease I decided to have the dresses made to what I thought would be the correct size, height, shape etc of each individual girl. All my girls were measured and the measurements and dress type all went off to where they were being made. Having done this I was relaxed in the knowledge that the only alterations that would need to be done would be for my expectant bridesmaid. When I picked the dresses up I took them to the girls to try on, only to discover that all the dresses were far too big for all my girls. I would say by at least 2-3 sizes. They literally fell off them. I now have to pay for all dresses to be brought in, which is not going to be cheap. I have taken them to a professional seamstress who is in disbelief as to why the staff ordered a size 20 dress for my pregnant friend when she is normally a size 8. At most she would have needed a 14-16. The dress is so large now that the whole thing will have to be taken apart and may not look the same as the others. This will cost more than a straight forward alteration. I am having to pay for all 4 dresses to be altered which will cost over £200. I went to white wedding with the view that the dresses would be made to fit each girl as closely as possible. The dresses were not even made to the nearest size as they were all literally falling off and looked terrible. The dresses themselves from Dessy are lovely, if I had the chance again I would buy them online rather than going to White Wedding as it seems totally pointless.Moreexpand_more

The shop was really lovely and service was very helpful. It certainly made trying on dresses fun especially compared to to other shops I went to in the area. I bought my wedding dress, bridesmaid dresses and my mum even purchased her mother of the bride outfit from here. Would certainly recommend the shop to friends.
