Quote request.
Hi.
I’m looking for a quote for bespoke joinery and some targeted improvements to our existing kitchen in the Cleckheaton area. The aim is to retain the current kitchen rather than rip it out, but make it feel much more considered, built-in and timeless.
I will attach photographs of the current kitchen, the awkward wall projections/bulkheads, breakfast-pantry inspiration, appliance details, deep-drawer inspiration and the design mood board.
The dimensions shown in earlier sketches are indicative only. The wall has awkward projections and changes in depth, so I would like you to take your own site measurements and propose the final dimensions and proportions after seeing the space.
1. Bespoke breakfast pantry / appliance garage.
The preferred layout is:

• Left-hand full-height utility cupboard.
• Central breakfast pantry / appliance garage as the dominant feature.
• Right-hand full-height bin / general storage cupboard.
The finished piece should look like traditional fitted furniture rather than standard kitchen units.

Style and construction.
• Simple traditional Shaker-style cabinetry.
• Substantial finished end panels.
• Traditional cornice / crown moulding.
• Proper plinth / skirting-style treatment at floor level.
• Fillers and scribes where required for a genuinely built-in finish.
• Antique-brass-style hinges and handles.
• Materials suitable for a high-quality professional spray finish.
• Detailed elevation / drawing for approval before manufacture.
• Work neatly around existing bulkheads, boxed sections and changes in wall depth rather than simply hiding them behind oversized blank panels.
Central appliance garage.
• Bi-fold doors to the central section only, so appliances can be used with the doors fully open and hidden when not in use.
• Adjustable upper shelving for jars, cereals, tea/coffee and breakfast storage.
• Dedicated microwave shelf with sensible ventilation clearance.
• Main appliance/work surface for toaster, bread bin, blender and potentially a coffee machine in future.
• Two substantial deep drawers below for plates, bowls, serving dishes, mixing bowls and heavier kitchen items.
• Good-quality full-extension, soft-close, heavy-duty drawer runners.
Existing appliance sizes.

Left utility cupboard.
• Space for cordless/stick vacuum, mop, broom and ironing board.
• Upper shelf for cleaning products.
• Hooks, clips or a simple hanging rail for long-handled items.
• Practical, simple storage rather than complicated mechanisms.
Right bin / storage cupboard.
• Space for two bins at low level.
• Adjustable shelving above for household supplies, recycling bags and occasional-use items.
• I’m happy to buy bins to suit the finished cupboard dimensions.
Internal finish.
Please price two options:

1. Spray-ready interior and exterior.
2. Spray-ready painted exterior with a warmer timber / oak-effect interior, shelving and/or drawer boxes.
Electrical / cable access.
• There are no electrical sockets on the wall behind the proposed pantry.
• I do not intend to add new sockets as part of this project.
• Power will come from an existing socket on the adjacent side wall.
• Please allow discreet side access for the power cable and neat cable holes / grommets into the appliance-garage section.
• No solid back panel where practical.
• Cables must not be trapped by shelves, drawers or doors, and the lead should remain removable/replaceable later.
• Please keep the cable route as hidden and tidy as possible.
2. Existing kitchen joinery improvements.
Please assess the existing kitchen and quote for targeted joinery changes that will make it feel more cohesive and furniture-like once sprayed.

• Replacement or improved plinth treatment.
• Deeper / more substantial skirting-style detailing where it improves the built-in look.
• Finished end panels to exposed cabinet sides, including the exposed worktop-end area.
• Fillers and scribes where existing gaps look unfinished.
• Improved cornice / crown moulding where appropriate.
• Tidying awkward cabinet ends and transitions.
• Making the existing kitchen visually tie in with the new breakfast pantry.
• Please advise what is worth doing and what would be unnecessary spend.
3. Preparation for professional kitchen spraying.
After the joinery is complete, I intend to have the existing kitchen and new cabinetry professionally spray painted together. Please build and prepare the new joinery so the sprayer can achieve a consistent finish across old and new cabinetry.

• Please advise what material you recommend for the best sprayed finish.
• Confirm whether any components should be primed, left bare or sprayed before installation.
• I would prefer the joiner and sprayer to coordinate if needed before final manufacture.
4. Handles / hardware.
• Please allow for changing the visible kitchen hardware to antique-brass-style knobs and cup pulls.
• If handle hole positions need filling or changing before spraying, please identify this in the quote.
• Please price hardware separately if possible so I can source it myself if more economical.
5. OPTIONAL – integrated fridge / freezer housing.
I currently have a freestanding fridge/freezer. I would prefer a fully integrated fridge/freezer behind matching Shaker-style doors if this is practical and affordable, either now or as a future phase.

• Please provide a separate optional quote for matching integrated fridge/freezer cabinetry.
• Include suitable ventilation and any required plinth/end-panel/cornice treatment.
• Advise what appliance configuration would fit the existing area.
• If possible, design the surrounding joinery so this can be added later without undoing the main work.
6. OPTIONAL – extractor / cooker-hood upgrade.
I would also like a separate optional quote for improving the appearance of the current stainless-steel extractor. I would prefer a discreet traditional solution that integrates with the cabinetry and avoids major damage or unnecessary alterations.

• Please assess whether the existing extractor mechanism can be retained and concealed within a painted Shaker-style chimney / surround.
• Alternatively, quote for a concealed / integrated extractor fitted within matching cabinetry.
• Please also suggest any simpler painted canopy solution that would achieve a similar appearance at lower cost.
• Please aim to retain the existing extractor position and ducting where practical.
• Avoid unnecessary damage to the existing tiling and surrounding kitchen.
• Identify separately any electrician or ventilation work that would be required.
7. OPTIONAL – existing oak worktop refurbishment.
I want to retain the existing solid oak worktops if possible. If this is a service you offer, please quote separately for lightly sanding and refinishing them to a natural, durable matte finish. If not, please advise whether you can recommend a suitable specialist.

Please structure the quotation as follows.
• A. Breakfast pantry / appliance garage – complete design, manufacture and installation.
• B. Existing kitchen plinths, skirting-style detailing, end panels, fillers/scribes and cornice improvements.
• C. Preparation / coordination for professional spray painting.
• D. Handles / hardware changes.
• E. Optional integrated fridge/freezer housing.
• F. Optional concealed extractor / chimney or canopy upgrade.
• G. Optional oak worktop sanding/refinishing, if offered.
Please also confirm:

• Proposed materials.
• Approximate lead time.
• Approximate installation time.
• Whether you provide drawings for approval before manufacture.
• Deposit required and payment schedule.
• VAT, if applicable.
I am obtaining several quotations, so an itemised price is particularly helpful. I am happy to phase the optional items depending on cost.

Timing nov/oct look to start new year. I have images to help with quote but no option to attach.
