Paid my first visit to Reid timber on Friday 13th December. The 40 mile round trip was well worth the effort. An absolute Alladin's cave. Alitair could not have been more helpful and nothing was any trouble. Anyone looking for timber, exotic or home grown, at very reasonable prices you will do well to give him a visit. If he doesn't have what you are looking for he will more than likely get it for you. You wont be disappointed. He doesn't sell anything of dubious quality either.

I had been looking for deecent tulipwood boards of a particular thickness. Alistair didn't have that thickness in stock, but was able to get some at short notice, and to cut to size. Very reasonably priced. I then found he has the best and widest selection of timbers I have yet come across in Scotland.

Photo uploaded by RosscI needed a finial for the roof of my house after the existing one rotted and blew down in a storm. Alastair made me a new one in a matter of days that fits exactly and looks great. It was also very reasonably priced. Happy days!

This is a mecca if you're into wood - I went in for a look without any particular project in mind but I couldn't have been treated more helpfully and bought a few pieces from a huge range of stuff at a very reasonable price and quality. I'm far from local but this is a business well worth supporting - an asset!

Found Reid Timber on internet as a local supplier of timber. Went to unit last week to look for board of ash to match with new staircase. The choice of timbers is great and the care and time spent by the owner was excellent and the price was good as well. I will be back for more timber in the future

I visited Alastair premises a few days ago to find some timber for turning and general woodworking. Reid Timber are easy to find, good parking and a friendly welcome. The timber wasn't half bad either! A good variety of species and all available as bowl blanks or squares. Competitive prices too! I will be back.

I have been at the workshop yesterday for the second time. This time looking for some ash wood for shelving. The amount of wood of different sort is fantastic. There is plenty to choose, quality is great and the prices are very reasonable. I believe if you are looking for something better than pine planks from B&Q - this is the best place on this side of the border. A paradise for anyone looking for good piece of wood - both local and exotic. Read More

My first visit to Reid Timber was in July and I have to say that I also found the services to be first class. I have just got round to turning my blanks and the quality of wood is great. I had my wife and young kid with me and we found the owner to be very friendly and helpful. Will be back again soon

My first visit to Reid's and delighted with quality, price and service. The person who served me is a very knowledgeable and extremely helpful 'young' man (young to me) who has a love of wood. Many thanks indeed. I WILL BE BACK! Suggestion. Display a larger sign to your workshop as it was dificult to find
