We started Pilates in the st helens branch a few months ago with Laura Clark. I cant recommend Laura enough, she is a fantastic teacher, helpful, knowledgeable and willing to tailor the session to your particular needs. Unfortunately due to my busy schedule we were unable to attend the mat work classes but I can see that being advantage and not being able to attend these sessions which are included in your membership makes our weekly reformer session expensive.
I have attended the pilates classes for nearly a year and really enjoy Laura's classes, I can really feel the difference in my posture and flexibility. Laura is very knowledgeable, encouraging and supportive. Joining the pilates centre is one of the best things I've done and look forward to going each week.
The best choice of my life! After having my twin girls, I was suffering from lower back pain and couldn't do simple tasks like pushing their pram. This situation lasted for 4 years! My consultant believed I needed an operation but thanks to nisha and marketa, who I met this year, i'm getting stronger every day. Although I couldn't lift and hold my girls when there were babies, I recently started to be able to (and they are 15 kilos each now! ). Highly recommended to all with lower back pain.
After my pregnancy of my twin girls I had a ligament tear. For 4 long years I was suffering with my lower back, not being able to lift my babies, bath or play with them. Then I discovered, thanks to my friend's recommendations, nisha and marketa. They've helped me tremendously! After only a few classes I was able to push the trolley in the supermarket with no pain. I've started to be able to sit on the floor and play with my children, even lift the basket with the laundry! My every day life has become easier and more enjoyable. What is more, after 4 years and 3 months exactly, I was able to hold my girls again in my arms while standing! Nisha is a superb teacher, delivery excellent value sessions. She is extremely knowledgeable, encouraging and enthusiastic. The great thing about the small classes, is that she can give everyone the attention they need, She ensures you get the very most out of each session. The activities within the class are changed regularly making for a fun and varied hour. I am so much more flexible, and much fitter since joining. I would heartily recommend North West Pilates to everyone, regardless of their fitness level, for fitness and flexibility as well as for eradicating back pain.
Thoroughly enjoying the course. I particularly like the way the tutor quickly wastes no time to get the class started. I also enjoy the health information of each pose or breathing exercise the tutor imparts throughout the class. The class is intensive moving swiftly from pose to pose but this ensures the customer receives value for their money. I thoroughly enjoy using the ball as it helps relax those stiff muscles and joints. I found opening the hips exercises to be very beneficial. Will re-join classes at a later stage.
I have attended since November and I definitely can feel the difference on my body. I had a back accident 8 years ago and 5 months ago was pregnant and it affected my back. I have suffered pain for years and this is the first time the pains easing. I am aware now of posture and adjust my self when I feel any pain. I reassure all new clients that the exercises really get easier and they really have! I feel muscles I never knew I had. I am an addict and will continue when I return to Mexico. The instructor Marketa is a breath of fresh air and always corrects exercises so you know you are doing it safe and for the benefit of your body. Join up you won't regret it.
I have just started to get into Pilates since September this year. I saw the advert in the paper for the clinical Pilates, it stated Pilates can help with neck and back pain which I have suffered with for years, and boy was this right! Since joining I don't think I can be without it now! I love it. I started doing Nisha's Monday evening Clinical Pilates which I thoroughly enjoyed, found extremely relaxing and really helped to ease my neck pain. From then I joined the Reformer classes ran by Margheta. The instructor is great, she supports me and pushes me which I like, I find it challenging but in a good way, It really helps strengthen and align my body…I almost feel taller when I've finished. Once I went into the class with chronic neck pain and I was a bit dubious about going but I kid you not, half way through the class, the pain was gone! When I do the classes I forget about the stresses of life and have the most amazing 'me time', Pilates really helps to replenish and revitalise me and I know I have found my new life long hobby. Thank you.
I started to do Pilates one month ago at the Pilates reformer studio in St Helens. I have been having one to one sessions once a week with Nisha Srivastava. I started to do the reformer Pilates as I heard good things about it and the many health benefits of doing the reformer Pilates. I've struggled the last year with a couple of injuries through sports and I was looking at trying the reformer Pilates as its an all over body workout without you isolating certain muscles. Basically by doing the reformer Pilates you get a all over body workout and depending how good you get you also get a bit of a cardio workout at the same time. Since I started doing the reformer Pilates one month ago I have noticed a few things, first of all my posture is better than it has ever been and I feel that I have grown as I am always standing straight and tall also I don't slouch anymore when standing or sitting I've found that without me thinking am always correcting myself to a better posture. I also feel that I have got more energy to deal with my busy schedule. I absolutely love doing the reformer Pilates and can feel the difference after only 5 sessions. Am looking forward to see how am feeling by 20 sessions because it's unbelievable how good it makes you feel as you can notice the benefits so soon after starting. Nisha is very highly trained and is top of her game. I would highly recommend Nisha to any one looking on improving there over all well being and physical benefits as the reformer Pilates can help you in so many ways. Nisha really knows her stuff! I've had endless neck and shoulder pain for years. Every time I try any exercise I've ended up back to square one until I joined Nishas clinical pilates class. My neck is so much better and it is down to her methodical, precise approach to treating the body through movement. Highly recommended.
I started Nisha's class as it was highly recommended by my mum and also family friends. It has not disappointed as each week I have progressed. Nisha is an excellent instructor as she makes you feel welcome and comfortable whilst also trying to encourage you to try new things. The classes are suited to all abilities as Nisha lets you work at your own pace and level. I always look forward to Nishas class every week and would recommend them to anyone!
I am now on my second course with Nisha after starting on the Clinical Pilates and then moving up to the Garuda. I was advised to try Pilates and Yoga to help by back and it is starting to improve. Nisha is very informative and I intend to continue with the classes.
I started clinical mat pilates on the six week course and was only able to attend 4 due to illness and holidays. In just those few sessions I have noticed improvement in posture and come a long way with the movement in my lower back with less pain now. I'm signing up for the next class and hope to keep improving my strength. Nisha is very knowledgeable and the classes flow well and are varied And enjoyable.
A very knowledgeable instructor, the class flows effortlessly and you're left wanting to continue when the class finishes. My 14 yr old son and I both have back problems which have improved since attending North West Pilates and Yoga centre. I would highly recommend it to anyone.
