Bodyguards Driving

I’m based in Derby, but I booked my driving test at the Grantham Test Centre. Finding an instructor who was willing to provide a car for the test and offer lessons around the Grantham test routes was surprisingly difficult. Many instructors quoted very high prices, and some weren’t willing to help at all. When I called Iain, he answered immediately and was happy to help after I explained my situation. From the very first conversation, he was understanding, professional, and reassuring. My test was at 9:07 am on 3rd February 2026. On the day, Iain picked me up from Grantham railway station and took me around the usual Grantham test routes. He is an extremely calm, patient, and highly experienced instructor, which made a huge difference to my confidence. I also benefited greatly from the blogs on his website and the YouTube videos on his channel. The resources he has put together are excellent and helped me gain a virtual understanding of the Grantham test routes even before the lesson. That preparation was invaluable. Iain is polite, professional, and genuinely committed to helping learners succeed. If you’re looking for a reliable and supportive instructor in Grantham or Peterborough, I can confidently say he is one of the best you’ll find. He helped me to improve on my mistakes by being empathetic and also encouraging me to be postive to learn from mistakes. I used Iain from Bodyguards Driving from the very start of my driving, a nervous wreck with no experience all the way up to my test today ( a nervous wreck with more experience ). Iain is a superb instructor, he was great at working with and around my anxiety issues and great at explaining new manoeuvres or instructions. This company is good value for money, Iain is happy to lower the frequency of your lessons if he believes you don't need them as often. My lessons also often over ran the hour I booked due to Iain wanting me to be comfortable with the subject of the day and at no point was I asked to pay for the time we over ran. Driving lessons with Iain proved just what I needed to pass the UK Driving Test. His demeanor is calm and reassuring. He explains the road rules, and also the "why" of those rules. I found it particularly helpful that he gave feedback both on what I was doing right as well as what I needed to correct. He is responsive, on time, and professional.
