Dogs no longer allowed inside. After reading fantastic reviews about this pub and how dog friendly it is, we travelled here from outside the area but were very disappointed to find dogs are no longer allowed inside. Although there was no problem sitting in the beer garden it was too cold and wet so we left after 1 pint.

We went in the Red Lion a couple of times whilst staying in Romaldkirk in May. We shall be returning as the pub and landlord Richard were fantastic. Proper real ales, friendly locals, a warm welcome for our dog and excellent prices. If you are in the area this hostelry should not be missed.

This local ale house is kept in the old way no TV no Music just plain speaking folk I have visited this place for the last three years on my trip up North.
The ale is kept and served by the Landlord since 2002. You are welcome wind or shine but leave your muddy boots at the door.
So if you are walking or driving check the hours as he needs his rest, come and taste his fine ales.
