I became a client of David\'s as I had been trying to conceive for a period of time and had experienced a miscarriage. I was looking for an acupuncture practitioner and found David after reading online reviews.
From the first appointment, I was sure that the acupuncture sessions with David would assist with my fertility journey and more generally my overall wellbeing. David was personable and empathetic and I left the session feeling refreshed and positive.
I was fortunate to fall pregnant a month after starting the sessions and continued regular sessions with David throughout my pregnancy. I found the sessions to be an invaluable support for me, both emotionally and physically, with David taking time to tailor each session by discussing any challenges I had experienced that week.
I highly recommend David. I now have a one week old baby boy and I truly believe that the treatment I received was key to my successful pregnancy journey.

David has been a huge help and support to. Me for almost a year now. I went to him for acupuncture after beginning chemotherapy for cancer treatment. When the chemotherapy treatment started I had terrible nausea from the medication, but after one round of acupuncture the nausea completely went away. I found it quite amazing how effective it was. Since then David has continued to support me through the rest of my treatment and it has made a world. Of difference. Even now after I have had a session, I sleep better and feel much more energised. David is also a very kind and insightful person, and I have found his emotional support so helpful through this time. I still go back to some of the mindfulness tools that we have talked about together, when I\'m having a difficult time.
I honestly couldn\'t recommend David highly enough and I\'m very thankful to him for all his help.

I first contacted David after a friend recommended I try acupuncture for fertility (we had been trying to get pregnant for a year and had decided it was time to explore options. We underwent fertility testing and found out that there was nothing medically preventing us from getting pregnant so rather than go into starting any hormonal treatment to speed things along I decided to give acupuncture a try so I contacted David.
I wasn\'t sure what to expect but found that from the first session even just talking about the journey I had been on was really helpful, and David was always a very calming presence making me feel comfortable and at ease from the first session. I then had weekly sessions (which I was advised would be needed for about 3 months as the first course of treatment) - it was great to feel like I was doing something to help my journey and I found that sessions helped to manage my stress levels and give me space to keep a positive mindset - essential when trying to get pregnant.
At the end of the 3 months I was lucky enough to find out that I was pregnant so I carried on with weekly sessions for the first trimester to support the pregnancy - again so useful and reassuring as the first 12 weeks is an anxious time. I managed to avoid the main symptoms of morning sickness and tiredness which were a huge bonus. After the first trimester I then dropped the sessions down to once a month (or as they were needed) but I think that the foundation of the treatment that I had at the start helped to lay the groundwork I needed for a smooth and easy pregnancy. The mind is such a powerful tool and combined with the treatment and taking that time for myself each week it all contributed to me having such a positive journey. I will definitely seek treatment for any future pregnancies.
I had a really good experience with David, who is professional, not pushy on treatment (it\'s always your choice to carry on with sessions) and provides a safe space for you to discuss any worries or concerns, so if you are curious about if acupuncture can help you - I would say give it a try!

I have been coming to see David for treatment for migraines, tmj and insomnia. I have been very impressed with David, I am responding well to treatment, my sleep is much better, the migraines are less severe amd frequent. The tmj has improved significantly as I am not waking up with terrible headaches. David is very knowledgeable and professional and takes time to listen. I would highly recommend David.

I contacted David back in July 2022 as we were having problems conceiving and were due to start IVF. I had looked into the benefits of Accupunture for both my own mental and physical health! David was able to fit me in straight away and I started weekly sessions with him. We had been TTC for two years and hadn’t had any luck- to my surprise, within a month of starting treatment, I conceived naturally. Unfortunately, I had a very early miscarriage but David supported me through the whole process- helping balance me out physically and mentally afterwards. We then went on to start IVF in October 2022 and saw David every week through the whole process- having specific sessions before transfer etc. I always felt positive, calm and controlled after David’s sessions and only wish I had looked into it sooner. Luckily, our first round of IVF was successful and I am now 28 weeks pregnant. I can’t compare our success to anything else as this was our first round, but I can say that despite being pumped with hormones and injections etc I felt very controlled and at ease every step of the way- something I can only put down to Accupunture. I will be returning to David in the final trimester to hopefully help with going into Labour! I can’t thank david enough and would recommend him to others. Thank you David for being an integral part of our journey!

I became a client of David\'s during an extremely stressful time. I was distraught and in trauma/overwhelm. David used his experience and skills to not only provide therapy for the crisis but, ongoing, for the underlying causes. The combination of talking to establish current issues with designing the acupuncture part of the treatment in response to this worked very well for me. It meant that every stage of treatment was based on what was happening at that particular time. Through frank and often enlightening discussion I have been able to understand my situation and change my outlook. David is a calm. Measured and totally non-judgemental therapist who I can recommend without hesitation.

I started seeing David during IVF treatment following two failed transfers. The transfer I had during treatment was successful and I now have healthy 5 month old twins who went full term. I saw David pre-transfer and for several months during pregnancy, I found the treatment during pregnancy massively helpful with morning sickness and fatigue and I am sure the treatment had an impact on the pregnancy itself. I looked into acupuncture because I discovered I had hypothyroidism and unbalanced hormones, and I was also concerned about the impact this would be having on my fertility as I approached 40.
From the outset, I felt at ease and comfortable with David. He has a calm and level-headed demeanour, and he took the time to understand my unique circumstances beyond the physical problems that could be affecting my wellbeing, before tailoring his acupuncture treatment to my specific needs.
I continued to see David weekly at both his Hemel Hempstead and Berkhamsted clinics for about 3 months while he supported me through a difficult relationship I was having. I would notice a build-up of tension throughout the week, but that would disappear after his sessions, and week by week this tension left me completely.
What I realised from my treatment with David was that the most significant problem I was having was more to do with my emotional conditioning as a result of past relationship trauma. I have no idea how his acupuncture treatment works, but it has literally changed my life and within 4 months, I felt back to the person I used to be – before a significant emotional ordeal I’d gone through a few years earlier.
I continued to see David monthly, and without any medical intervention, my stress hormones had regulated, and my thyroid levels and antibodies had significantly improved. I believe that was the knock-on effect of David’s treatment, and that by healing my emotional state of mind he also rebalanced my body physically.
Several months after starting my treatment with David, I was told that I would struggle to conceive naturally and that I would likely need IVF, so David spent my following session focusing purely on fertility. While I had begun to make peace with the idea of not ever having a biological child, I decided it was still worth trying a treatment with him. To my absolute surprise, I fell pregnant naturally that same cycle. I’m now 41 years old and 32 weeks along with my first baby and so far, having a smooth pregnancy with no complications.
I truly believe that David’s treatment has altered the course of my life for the better by rebalancing my mind and body and enabling me to completely move on from past trauma that I’d learned to live with by staying in what I can only describe as a kind of emotional “safe/sleep" survival mode. I had no idea his treatment was going to help me in such a profound way, and I can honestly say that putting my trust in him is one of the best decisions I ever made.

Now (November 2022) I feel pretty much recovered, and I\'ve stopped treatment. David didn\'t just stick pins in me: he\'s a very good listener and good at giving gentle advice. From day one, David was very professional and is an incredibly nice, calming, level-headed person. We’ve had some great conversations around mindfulness and overall health too, which have also very much complimented the treatment I was having.
I am hugely appreciative to David for his commitment to my treatments. Every treatment session is bespoke as per the clients needs.
I am delighted to say my anxiety levels are always improving, and for the fertility piece, I see the treatments of big importance to complement other medical interventions I was also having – after a round of recurrent miscarriage, I am now in the third trimester of my first pregnancy! I will continue to have acupuncture with David now as a maintenance to my overall health. I really cannot recommend David (or acupuncture) highly enough!

I went to see David for menopausal symptoms after referral from a friend. I was pretty low and really finding life difficult to cope with. I was incredibly sceptical initially but over the first few weeks I felt a real change in my moods, felt my depression lifting and found my voice again. As well as the Acupuncture sessions, it\'s David\'s compassion and calmness and his ability to provide different perceptiveness to situations that have really benefitted me holistically. David was incredibly kind and caring - he has a very soothing manner and I felt at ease immediately. He is very astute and carries out a thorough assessment in the first session which is tweaked throughout the sessions according to emotional need etc. David really helped me through an anxious and unsettling time - I had just had a miscarriage and felt very out of sorts. I received Acupuncture from David at both his Hemel Hempstead clinic and his Berkhamstead clinic, initially to assist with fertility issues and fertility treatment. I soon found that acupuncture was not only a benefit for fertility but also largely helped my mood and really made a difference with giving me an extra energy boost in general. Working in a very draining job, David provided holistic care and was able to recognise how acupuncture could benefit me in more ways than just fertility. I had acupuncture with David both before and during fertility treatment and felt the benefits in both my day to day energy and mood and to top it off, I’m now 39 weeks pregnant! Would highly recommend!

I came to David after having three ectopic pregnancies in 11 months. Acupuncture was recommended to me by a friend who had also had an ectopic. It was my last chance for a natural pregnancy. He was ever so kind and professional, and I felt a huge difference from the outset - both mentally and physically. I had more energy and really felt a shift in my body. I went to David for acupuncture to complement fertility treatment. It was my 4th round of IVF but 1st time trying acupuncture. David was fantastic! He listened to my whole life story (more like counselling) and shaped my treatment to not only aid with fertility and conception but to assist with more holistic wellbeing too. He also went to great lengths to ensure treatment was Covid-safe without losing any of the effectiveness and overall experience.
I now have a beautiful, healthy six week old daughter.

I came to see David for Moxibustion treatment as my baby was breech. David was very professional and explained how to do the follow up treatment at home and I’m pleased to say 2 days later we had great success and my baby turned and was no longer breech. I would definitely recommend David and the treatment as it has helped us to avoid surgical procedures and a c-section.

Following acupuncture treatment, my headaches quickly reduced and my headaches have now completely disappeared. I\'ve been seeing David in his Hemel Hempstead clinic for 5 months for chronic insomnia and low immunity, problems I\'ve had for 30+ years. Since starting acupuncture my insomnia has improved immensely, I now routinely sleep well 7-8 hours a night and it is deep refreshing sleep, I have occasional blips but they don\'t unnerve me and happen less and less often. My immune system has also improved, still not perfect but when I do get cold symptoms they are much milder and pass in a day or so. My increased energy is wonderful after years of feeling scared to plan things for fear of either not sleeping or being ill. David works in a very holistic way and his clear knowledge and experience made me quickly feel trust, and confidence in the treatment. He recently helped me with painful plantar fasciitis and that is also improving after just one treatment. I thoroughly recommend David, he is extremely professional, his standards of hygiene have been so high through Covid 19 I never once felt worried. I hadn’t had any type of acupuncture before contacting David and had no idea what to expect. Not only was it very helpful in achieving a successful pregnancy (our son is now 7 weeks old) but it also enriched my life in other areas which was quite revelatory. I felt a deeper emotional connectivity in my relationships and managed to juggle motherhood, a very full on work schedule as well as trying to conceive with a calm and pragmatic approach much of which I attribute to David’s treatments.

I started seeing David for Acupuncture since April 2019 for my condition, Graves Disease which had an imbalance of an overactive thyroid at the time. I was adamant not to use the synthetic drugs on this occasion as I previously had done so but gained weight and had mood swings as a result. David had come recommended through a friend of the family so I was keen to give it a try.
Upon meeting David in Hemel Hempstead, I was greeted with a warm handshake and reassuring smile which put me at ease immediately.
The acupuncture itself was tailor made to specific pinpoints on Davids findings through discussion. Each session lasts for approximately 1 hour and I was left feeling vitalised and hopeful.
Fortunately I need to have regular blood tests to see if my levels on my thyroid (TSH and T4) had changed and after just 10 weeks of acupuncture treatment, my T4 level had moved to the normal range! I\'ve continued using David, slowly spreading the appointments out over time and my recent blood test results in October 2019, for both my T4 and TSH, have come back normal! I\'m so delighted with the results as I had previously in the past been on medication for nearly two years to balance those readings out.
Obviously everyone is different and may or may not work for all but I am a firm believer that this acupuncture with David has done wonders - in fact in my eyes it\'s more of a miracle having gone through a different process in the past.
I\'ll continue visiting David to keep \'topped up\' not only for the acupuncture but also for the interesting chats and friendly ear. I call David my Guru!

I found David so fantastic, he was flexible for appointments, always very professional and I felt so comfortable during treatment. Within 2 sessions I felt my anxiety lifting and although I needed IVF, I continued treatment throughout and fell pregnant on the first round. I also saw David regularly until about 16 weeks and I felt my sickness was reduced and my mood improved when I had seen him. I will absolutely be returning to David for treatment when I begin trying for my next child also.

I came to David for help with frequent debilitating migraines. I’m delighted to say that his treatments using Five Elements Acupuncture has changed my experience of migraines. I found David offered a refreshingly holistic approach to acupuncture. He treated the emotional as well as the physical. I went with some physical symptoms, hormonal issues as well as some more vague niggles. David intuitively worked with questions and conversations to pinpoint the treatment I needed, things that I myself was not able to voice or be fully conscious of. For me I felt this link between the emotional and it\'s unconscious effects in the body were key. He is non judgmental and welcoming and this open approach only benefitted the depth at which he was able to treat. What can I say, David is a miracle worker! After suffering a miscarriage at 11 weeks and my body not recovering well still 4 months on, my friend recommended David. From the onset he listened in detail to what I had gone and was going through. David was detailed in each session about specific acupunture points he was using and I could tell I had come to the right place after just my first few sessions - for the first time in months I felt at ease and had a brighter outlook on the situation. My treatment was very successful and I cannot recommend David and the Five Element Acupuncture enough. My recommendation is to see David regardless of what health issues you may have. I honestly don\'t know where to start with this review simply because I want to ensure to give David the enormous amount of credit that he deserves.
After a 10 week programme with david I fell pregnant (ivf) within 1 month, after having had 1 failed IVF attempt and trying to conceive naturally for years while working with a TCM acupuncturist.
Our beautiful baby is now here and words can not expressed how thankful I am having had the opportunity to work with David and for his endless support during my pregnancy. I would recommend him to anyone, not only for fertility treatment, with complete confidence.
Learn from my experience and do not waste you money, time and energy going to anyone else.
Previous to David I worked with a TCM acupuncturist(s) for over two years. Feeling + seeing no results I was about to turn my back on acupuncture, which was when I came across David and five element acupuncture.
Unlike with my previous TCM acupuncturist David was able to:
1. Provide a timeline (10 weeks) for his treatment plan.
2. Identify the source of my fertility problem (during my 1st treatment) 3. Provide counsel. I was asked to pay more for \'talking\' through my problems with my previous acupuncturist due to it being seen as over and above their acupuncture service as suppose to it going hand and hand with Davids.
Having ivf treatment in London Harley street and living in Berkhamsted. I loved having the reassurances that I could visit David both close to home and close to my ivf clinic.
David also helped me with anxiety during my pregnancy. While helping work through childhood issues that were still holding me back from moving forward in life.
The list really could go on…..

My husband and I had been trying for a baby for a while and decided to see a fertility specialist, a week later I was booked in for surgery and the outcome wasn\'t good news, I had two blocked tubes which meant my chances of having a baby naturally would lead to an ectopic pregnancy so our best chance was IVF. I found David by going through Google reviews, and decided to have a consultation with him in his central london office. I was desperate, emotional, and sad by this roller coaster journey. David made me feel so comfortable, took the time to listen and understand my mind and body giving me the confidence to believe again, well after 6 acupuncture sessions and a month to go before we start IVF I fell pregnant naturally. David is an exceptional practitioner and… human being. First, I came to him with few financial means and he was incredibly accommodating. There was a true commitment on his part to see his client be well and expand. He is incredibly knowledgable, reliable, patient and kind, all this underpinned by rare humility. During the course of a dozen or so sessions, I found my inner critic subside tremendously. I now find myself happier where I am and happier with what is showing up in my life. A greater acceptance both of myself and of \'what is\'. No small feat from where I started at the time. I stopped for nine months but will be starting again imminently. Now that he has found and is actively working with my \'Causative Factor\' and whichever relevant pathway within it, I imagine that change from session to session will be ever more marked. I went to David when I really needed help with peri-menopausal symptoms. I had never really had much success with acupuncture for a different situation in the past, but I was pretty stressed and thought I\'d give it a go. This was a different type of acupuncture so perhaps it would suit me better? In a handful of sessions the difference was enormous. I still go for top ups and each time I am helped with whatever is the issue. He is very clear about what acupuncture can do and this helped me with making decisions about diet and lifestyle which was also part of the solution. David is utterly professional, listens carefully and knows his stuff. I thoroughly recommend him. HP1.

I came to see David with plantar fasciitis, which is extremely bad heel and ankle pain, it had been continual for the better part of a year, having tried all manner of other therapies, acupuncture was my last resort, I have always been sceptical of this therapy, with absolutely no evidence to back myself up. It was a therapy that I felt may be good for a small number of ailments, but heel pain, not a chance.
However David deals with a number of different therapies within the acupuncture field and his treatment was varied, thorough and professional. At the same time he dealt with various emotional issues which were in my life at that time.
After the first session, I have to say I was amazed at the improvement enabling me to walk normally with some degree of comfort, after the first session, it continued to improve, and after 6 sessions I was now experiencing completely pan free walking.
I am writing this review 6 weeks after my last appointment with David, and am still pain free and walking 4 miles every other day.

I came to David for Acupuncture in Felden to treat my depressive symptoms triggered by suppressed childhood issues. Before I came, I was unable to function properly during the day and my sleep was badly disrupted despite attending regular psychotherapy sessions. I was nervous about trying Acupuncture for the first time, but David made me feel completely relaxed. Initially, I felt and slept substantially better for about 2 days after each treatment, and then my lighter moods became longer-lasting, my energy returned and I had an increased sense of calm. I feel extremely fortunate to have benefitted from David’s knowledge, professionalism and many years of experience and would wholeheartedly recommend him to others.

I have been visiting David in his clinic near berkhamsted for the last 5 months. I decided to go to him for acuouncture trestment as I had been having a few fertility problems and I also had a miscarriage last year.
Once starting the treatment with david I fell pregnant reslly quickly. We then both decided it would be a good idea to continue treatment to help maintain the pregnancy. The acupuncuture has also helped me with some pregnancy symptoms such as sickness and back aches. I am continuing to see David as and when I feel necessary. I would highly recommend David and have had a very positive experience visiting him.

I have been diagnosed with PCOS more than a year ago and my period was getting worse and worse. We were trying for a baby for almost year and half and the acupuncture with David was my last hope to get this sorted out naturally. I had no period for two months but it took only 5 sessions to get this back on track. Well, at least I thought so…I left for a month long holiday and I was wondering why my period hasn’t arrived. Well, it couldn’t, I was already pregnant! David was helping me through my first trimester as well and here I am – 22 weeks pregnant. We cannot thank David enough!!!!! I’ve got other minor issues sorted out as well and I didn’t have to take a single pill, so I am really happy. David is very professional, always made sure I felt comfortable and relaxed and he was always listening very carefully. He knows what he is doing and this is very reassuring. I will carry on with the sessions that’s for sure as we have one more baby planned ?.

I came to see David mostly because I had to deal with a traumatic situation at that time and because of having problems of dealing with a lot of stress. He treated me with a combination of acupuncture and tapping which both helped me immensely.
His warm, calm and trusting personality also gives you a very relaxed feeling for the comfortable talking.

I visited David when I was at a low ebb – I had been suffering from chronic vestibular migraines for around 18 months and had developed anxiety that was creeping into my day-to-day life. After a few treatments my symptoms began to improve and I felt happier and more comfortable and confident in myself. I have now reached the point where we can space out treatments but I will continue to see David because he has made such a difference. After trying numerous different treatments for migraine, both through the NHS and privately, I feel I have finally found something that works.

I attended David\'s Energy Workshop in Berkhamsted in which he shared many self-help tools to help increase energy and enhance mood. Not only was it extremely interesting but it was equally as enjoyable because David kept the session very light-hearted and was open to questions throughout, which made it a lovely interactive session without being too personal. The workshop content was very well structured and the 3 hours flew by in a flash. I would highly recommend this workshop as I believe anyone with an open mind could benefit, regardless of their current physical or emotional state of health.
