I asked Lee for help after my iPhone was no longer pairing with my MacBook Pro since I undated to Sonoma.
I had already gone through the usual (restart, delete the phone from hotspot and all that) to no avail. I had even been taken through some potential fixes by EE (my phone provider) and Apple support. All they suggested were the obvious which I had already tried. They were pretty useless. I also looked at forums and online chats where the problem was widely reported but (sadly) no one had a fix that actually worked.
Lee came to my office and showed huge tenacity and determination to fix the issue and it didn\'t take him long! It turned out to be a simple network protocol issue that even Apple themselves appear to be unaware of.
Lee also cleaned up my computer while he was here too. It\'s now working like a dream.
I have no hesitation in recommending The Apple Mac Mechanic, he knows his stuff and is very thorough.

An interesting repair experience. I had been told by supposed Apple repair experts in Hereford my Imac was beyond repair and I had probably fried some circuits during a routine update. That was not quite true. I called Lee after a search for an independent apple repair service listed him locally. He is not what you would expect. He is not a geek and definitely not a routine repair guy. But he certainly knows his way around Apple machines. After installing a new SSD at my request, he proceeded to resolve the update problems. All done on the kitchen table while I watched. He provided a running commentary of all the aspects of his work. Now I have a machine running better than the day I bought it. I am an illustrator and graphic novelist so when my desktop Mac froze after trying to update to Monterey… my world literally came crashing down. Lucky for me, Lee Jones ( highly recommended by our local FB group, which helped) came to the rescue. He replied promptly to my email SOS. The latest version software was installed, the sluggish drive was speedier than ever and on Lee’s advice I bought a much more up to date and super speedier disk which he installed. As a DJ my MacBook Pro and external hard drives are a vital part of my livelihood. There were many problems with them after upgrades to software etc that I had done. Our problems were of a software nature (corrupted Mail in a Mac mini containing two SSDs). Lee assessed the situation quickly and proposed a solution which took several hours to implement, but has worked perfectly. In addition, he had many suggestions and offered advice on other issues in our home network. The end result was a rejuvenated Mac mini, resolving various network issues, and a better understanding of Mac operating systems. I can thoroughly recommend Lee, the applemacmechanic.

Our late 2015 27inch iMac had started crashing initially on zoom then randomly experiencing kernel panics and shutting down. We waited until it was happening constantly before trying to get it repaired. We selected Lee as being local, experienced in Mac repair and well reviewed. He came to us and after discussing the symptoms took the machine away to be repaired by a specialist. The fault was diagnosed as a CPU failure and options were given for its replacement (we opted to replace to the original spec). Lee returned the machine in working order and so far (it has only been a day since its return) it is working fine. Lee was confident about the cause of the problem and therefore gave us confidence in proceeding with the repair. If the machine lasts another 5 years it will be worth the £500 cost of the repair and much less than the cost of buying a new one, although my faith in Apple products has been shaken by the premature failure of this CPU.
Lee was clear and easy to understand, friendly and likeable and I would recommend him to others.
P.S. The iMac is still going well a couple of weeks later (no crashes) so we are happy customers!

Lee did a great job transforming our 2015 iMac from a state of being practically unusable, to now be being blisteringly fast and a real pleasure to use. He quickly diagnosed the problem from information I sent him (identifying the need to upgrade the original drive to a new and much faster SSD drive). I made contact my email late Wednesday night in panic as my email had crashed on my MacBook Pro. Lee\'s communication was great and even though he was off today he sensed my stress levels and invited me over.

We are one of those families with a Mac, MacBook, iPad, iPhone where nothing was set up properly, devices didn\'t communicate well, the hard drive in the Mac was faulty and we\'d given up with IT being useless and cumbersome. Lee quickly worked out by email what the hard drive problem was, so that I could order the solid state drive before his visit. He spent 4 hours \'starting again\' with the devices and setting up correctly, made changes too improve performance and \'usability\' and all the time explained what he was doing so that it was clear. No question too idiotic. Lee was friendly, professional (not at all superior/geeky/corporate) and made me feel very comfortable with the process. I would not hesitate to recommend, and will book him again to set up a child\'s laptop with safety features amongst other things.

After discussing my problems, I was advised to purchase a new hard drive and additional RAM, he would then come and ensure back ups etc, install and then re-load. This happened and the guy is nothing but totally professional and very good at his job, and his decision to upload from original drive saved me a lot of money. I have an "vintage" 2011 iMac which was overheating and sounded like the hard drive was about to pack in. Mr. Jones installed more Ram and a new SSD drive which he helped me.

Immediately performed surgery on my iMac, followed by detailed following up, restoring all the data required by me but discarding all the rubbish accumulated by me over years. I can\'t recommend Lee enough my Mac book pro and iMac had become so slooooow I was thinking I would have to buy new ones but he recommended a new solid state drive for them both. He advised me where to buy them beforehand a quick and simple process and turned up and installed them for me.

Despite the install not being as straight forward as it could have been Lee worked his magic and also gave me lots of tips and answered all my questions. I\'m now happily whizzing through work with two computers that are lightening speed.

Within a couple of days from making a phone call to Lee he came and upgraded my tired iMac which now responds almost instantly! A very significant improvement.. Sitting with Lee whilst he went about his work, gave me a very clear insight into his level of skill and how much he enjoys what he does and particularly engaging in conversation with his clients. Lee was recommended by an acquaintance but who had his services some years ago. So?Checked his reviews, thought he seems good and went ahead with his services. Great! What an engineer as he responded and visited very quickly. Analysed my iMac, put in a SSD creating a new machine, up loaded latest Catalina and was excellent teacher with patience, clarity and charming personality to boot. Recommendation - yes of course!

I found Lee through an internet search, and any trepidation that I had by \'cold calling\' an unknown \'expert\' was quickly dispelled. He is friendly, very knowledgeable regarding the intricacies of Mac OS software and hardware and most of all he is trustworthy. This is illustrated by the way he teaches you the knowledge that you have just paid for, so that you can do it for yourself. Says it all I think. Top Man, Great Brain. Money very well spent!
