About Sean's Swim School

Sean's Swim School is based at Claremont Senior School Bodiam and Silverdale Primary School Hastings and is a well established business aiming to provide an excellent swimming programme within a safe and secure teaching and learning environment. Sean's Swim School prides itself on high standards and employs both ASA and STA qualified staff, all of whom hold CRB Enhanced Disclosures.

The staff aim to challenge, encourage and motivate children to enjoy water and achieve their full swimming potential. Above all, they aim to show children that learning to swim at Sean’s Swim School can be fun and rewarding and hope when they leave the school they will have happy and pleasant memories of Sean's Swim School.

Claremont Senior School boasts two indoor swimming pools. The shallow learner pool is an ideal starting point for the younger children who eventually progress into the 20metre training pool. The training pool’s six lanes are perfect for the development of confident, competent and competitive swimmers.

Silverdale Primary School has a 12 metre indoor swimming pool, this learner pool is an ideal starting point for the younger children who eventually progress thier strokes and are invited to join the lessons at Bodiam or move up to the more advanced groups in silverdlae primary school on a thursday evening.

The aim is to have no more than 8 pupils per class; ensuring that the teachers are able to give each pupil the individual attention they deserve.

The Swim school is registered with the ASA and the lessons are designed to run in accordance with the ASA National plan for teaching swimming. Sean's Swim School is also proudly sponsored by Southern Water and provides their ‘Learn to swim’ scheme; teaching children who are complete beginners through to an advanced level, after which they are able to be considered for entry into a swimming club or continue on the Rookie lifeguard courses.

This Swim School is personally managed and maintained by Sean Collins who has been on the swimming scene for many years as a competitive swimmer himself, having a wealth of knowledge of the sport to offer. Sean was Head coach of a local competitive swimming club for 15 years and increased their membership from 40 to over 600 swimmers with national ranked swimmers; the club competed in top competitions and won. Having previously worked for other swim schools Sean has firsthand experience on how children can develop and succeed to reach their full potential.

The swimming lessons are suitable for parents living in and around the Hastings and Rother boroughs, and from neighbouring East Sussex areas: Bexhill-On-Sea, Battle, St Leonards-On-Sea, Hastings, westfield, Rye, Guestling and Udimore and Kent.

The teachers at Sean's Swim School are the main assets. Many of the staff have been with the swim school for many years and have seen whole families go through the swim school system. Strong relationships are formed, giving a feeling of trust and loyalty between teacher and pupil. The teachers are ASA qualified and are highly experienced in working with children of all abilities and characters. They regularly update their qualifications.

Sean's Swim School has a rapidly expanding pupil membership, attending progressive structured lessons each week during term time only. The progress of all pupils is continually assessed by the teacher. If the teacher feels that they are ready to move a child up a group then they will be moved straight away.

My son lacked confidence and was extremely nervous in the water so after several months at his previous swim school I gave up. Sean's Swim School was recommended to me by my neighbour. I called Sean and arranged a trial lesson. My son couldn't wait to go back, the interaction between the teachers and the children is very good. I thoroughly recommend Sean's Swim School and can't praise them enough.

'Sean's Swim School' offers children a wonderful opportunity to learn to swim properly in a friendly, fun and safe environment. My 8 year old son has attended Seans Swim classes regularly and has become a confident, sound swimmer who has quickly progressed into the advanced class - thanks to the progress monitoring of the instructors. The lessons are structured and the instructors are friendly, professional, caring and will encourage your children to progress to the next level. They offer expert tuition as most are members of swimming clubs or lifeguard themselves, and will focus their attention on the ability of your child. I can highly recommend them. .

My two children (5 and 7) have been attending for a term now. Both were complete beginners and one was very anxious about swimming lessons. I am pleased to say that both thoroughly enjoy their half hour lesson in the pool and the staff are encouraging, motivating and have given my daughter a lot more confidence than I expected. Highly recommend Sean's Swimschool to anyone.

We tried out Sean's Swim School for our two boys aged 7 and 10 as they weren't progressing at their current school. I was really impressed with the facilities at Bodiam Manor on arrival. Everyone was very friendly and the boys were both made to feel welcome. I thought the level of teaching was excellent and our 10 year old was moved up a group after a short period in the water as they assessed him. Talking to other parents the feedback as good. I was told that any issues are always quickly resolved and teh staff are always on hand to help with anything. Communication with the school both my email and phone has been really good and they have always responded quickly to any queries. The boys really enjoyed their lessons and we've signed up!

After trying other swim schools where my son would not even enter the swimming pool and i ended up wetter than him! I tried Sean's Swim School and my son has come on wonders and this is so lovely to see, he started in the small pool and after a few sessions he became confident in the water, and after a few months he has now gone up to the big pool which he loves. All of the staff are friendly and professional and the confidence they have given my son in the water is amazing. I would highly recommend Sean's Swim School to any parent wanting their child to excel! Miss Owen.

I have used Sean's Swim School for my 2 younger children, now aged 9 & 11 and they are both confident swimmers with fantastic technique. Sean and his staff use lots of praise and encouragement, they are very approachable. My 11 year old had outgrown the top class but wasn't strong enough for the next stage, Sean set up an improver class for children like her to get them ready for squad swimming. My older daughter still moans that she missed out and although she had swimming lessons, wasn't taught the techniques that her siblings were taught. They now belong to a swimming club and are really good swimmers.

We have been taking our children to Sean's Swim School for 4-5 years and feel that, for the money, we get good value and service. The staff are all helpful and friendly and our children have progressed well. We are happy to reccommend the School to other parents.

Sean's Swim School has been a brilliant experience for both of my girls. My youngest daughter screamed for weeks but now she is swimming, she can't touch the floor and is a very confident 5 year old and loves every minute of it. The staff have been such a support for me as a parent. Thank you.

My son was extremely nervous around water and is very sensitive and shy. The staff at seans swim school are very supportive (in respect of an anxious mum too! ) and have put him at ease and he has grown in confidence at a tremendous pace. His swimming has progressed very well and he can't wait to get in the pool each week, I can't express my gratitude enough to the whole team who are always on hand to answer any queries I have. I can't wait for my youngest to start! Thank you.

Sean's Swim School has taught our 3 daughters to swim. The youngest has just turned 6 and is now perfecting her strokes! Each teacher has been sensitive, caring, encouraging and travelled at just the right pace. As a result we have 3 water confident girls. No hesitation in recommending Sean's Swim School!

Seans Swim School was ideal for us, good location, friendly staff/instructors and reasonably priced. You are able to sit along the poolside which means you can take note of what they are being taught and put it into practise when you go swimming as a family. I recommended Seans Swim School to a number of friends many attend now.

Sean's Swim School staff have be superb throughout. They guided us at the start as to the most appropriate stage of teaching for our daughter who has made fantastic progress since starting. She loves the classes, teachers and other children. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending them to anyone looking for great quality swimming tuition for their children.

When I first took my children to Sean's Swim School the youngest was very timid and afraid of the water, the other saw it as a chore - we have been going for five terms now and both have improved and moved up a class. My youngest is no longer afraid of the water and both children now enjoy swimming. I would definately recommend Sean's Swim School.
