About ReVamp
Operating from Conwy Valley, ReVamp repairs valve amplifiers and semiconductor based musical equipment to clients throughout the UK (and, at times the continent). Established in 1996 the company has over 45 years experience in valve and semiconductor technology.
ReVamp was initiated in 1996, by Roger Pattison, after being involved in industry for 25 years+, in electronic/electrical engineering.
Following that time he worked for various musical main dealerships (Fender, Marshall, Klemt, WEM, Mesa, Gretsch etc. ).
Although the technology of the electronic valve was being supplanted by the transistor, beginning even in the early '50's, it never died out altogether.
There is no doubt that the valve had its problems (it was not mechanically robust; whereas the transistor could survive physical stresses with little problem), but the sounds it produces are rich, full and distinctive.
The current trend, which seems unlikely fade, is for musicians to seek out the technology of previous decades, and as this trend has grown rapidly, valves and components of those times are now being re-manufactured.
The business of ReVamp is largely to bring these early pieces of equipment back to their original specifications.
Not only is this a satisfying endeavour but also realizes the value of these vintage amps.0 FreeIndex Reviews
