New build garage, Maple cottage, Auchtermuchty. The service we recieved from Calum Macdonald whilst planning and building our garage was excellent. The design and eventual plans were exactly as I had envisaged and were approved within a matter of weeks. Friendly, efficient and easy to deal with, I would certainly recommend Calum to anyone considering any type of construction requiring architectural input.

Taigh an RubhaOur project to build our own home began a number of years ago and started with visits to show houses to begin to get ideas of what we would want our property to look like. We then considered a number of pre-designed structures but could not find an exact fit for what we wanted. That’s when we were introduced and spoke to Calum. We eventually found a design that, with a number of modifications, we would be happy with. Calum came up with the goods and re-designed it to suit our dream house. This I must add was after Calum being extremely patient and having to make a variety of amendments due to the changes being requested by us! Unfortunately this was not meeting the approval of the Planners! The property was to be built in quite a unique area, the old quarry area to the east of the Forth Bridge at East Battery Pier, North Queensferry. Objections to the build had been received from Network Rail, however, their concerns could not be justified. The Planners responded to the application with a variety of conditions all of which Calum satisfied with amendments to the drawings and numerous meetings, until finally they advised that they did not agree with the design of the proposed house. Calum took away the drawings and managed to re-design superbly which satisfied both Planning and ourselves. It actually looked much better and was more practical than the original vision of what the house looked like and contained. All drawings and warrants completed on time and of a high standard for our new staircase and upstairs conversion work during the build the technician was available to advise our builder of any modifications neccessary. An excellent service provided at a reasonable price would recommend to others.
