Instead of a garage and utility room I've now got a light, spacious, elegant dining and music room integral to and enhancing my house. The Architectural Services design made the most of an existing inefficiently used space, and in particular opened up previously bricked-in windows to provide maximum natural light whilst retaining privacy. This was done through a thoroughly enjoyable process of discussion and consultation and I have no hesitation in providing these high ratings.

I employed Mike Booth as a consultant as I wanted advice about my new build which is in a sensitive area in the Lake District. To be honest, he was like a breath of fresh air. I was at the stage where I had designed my house myself as I had been extremely disappointed by other architects who just wanted to do their own thing. I showed my plans to Mike as I had some blockers which I needed to iron out. He looked at my plans, helped me with some of my design issues made some positive suggestions. He also explained in depth about building structures and this improved my understanding and clarified a few facts for me, one fact specifically being that I did not have to have the upstairs rooms in the same place as those downstairs. Following on from this, he explained how essential it is to plan the project well and gave some advice on what councils like to see. I found Mike to be very professional and knowledgeable as well as having a very pleasant personality. He gave me the confidence to move forward as he did not try to re-design the house and commented that he thought that it was a good plan. He had listened to my requirements and taken them on board. Did not have proposed work done but was extremely satisfied with the manner in which the architect dealt with the proposed work and his obvious willingness to satisfy his client.

Michael helped me negotiate the planning minefield obtain planning permission and locate a good quality buil inspector. Although a relatively small project he gave it his full attention, even reducing some of his fees to help my limited budget. I would not hesitate to use his company in the future and thoroughly recommend him.
