Yorkshire Bagpiper - MusicianEd Arnold is a professional highland bagpiper with over 15 years experience performing at all kinds of events including weddings, birthday parties, special occasions, funerals, public and corporate events. Ed is based in Stocksbridge (Sheffield) but travels all over the UK on a weekly basis to perform at events.
Ed was taught to play the bagpipes at the age of 10 after being inspired by a bagpiper while on holiday with his parents in Aberfeldy, Scotland. He has performed and competed in several pipe bands including Ashbourne Pipes and Drums and has also competed as a solo piper. He currently plays the bagpipes as a large part of his living, performing at funerals in the week and weddings at weekends. He has also performed for high profile events such as the Rolls Royce Burn's NIght Social in Derby, a Sheffield Schimitars Ice Hockey match, and on stage at the IIFA awards 2007 (Sheffield Arena). Ed can be hired as a solo piper or with a side drummer. Ed generally performs in No. 2 uniform (smart casual dress) and wears a Royal Stewart kilt. He has a large repertoire that includes traditional Scottish and Irish pipe tunes as well as a number of modern bagpipe pipe tunes.
Ed can also provide a top quality disco when booked for events which many clients find helpful as it means they do not have to go to any extra trouble of trying to find a DJ.
Ed also provides a song writing service where he will compose a tune for a client or a client's relative or friend.
