Based in Troon, Westdrive School of Motoring is an accomplished company offering manuel and automatic driving lessons to clients throughout Ayr / Prestwick / Troon / Irvine and Kilmarnock. Established in 1991 the organisation has over 19 years experience in the Driving Schools market, including six years as a Driving Examiner.
Using Driving Standards Agency (DSA) approved and fully qualified grade 5 instructors, the company westdrive School of Motoring delivers professional, conscientious and dedicated driving instruction. The service is designed to cover all topics recommended by the DSA (the people who carry out your driving test) and are intended to lead each pupil towards not just a good, first-time test pass but becoming a safe and confident driver for life.
All lessons are on a one-to-one basis, with pick up and drop off at your home Work, Collage or other address.
Whether a new learner just starting out, already had some lessons and feel that a change of instructor would help, or a qualified driver then Pass Plus / Motorway training or just refresher training is available.

| 5.05 5.0 out of 5 - James immediately set me at ease as I was quite nervous about driving; there is a huge difference between being a passenger and being behind the wheel! Having explained and demonstrated basic driving techniques, James had me drive on quiet roads around Barassie. Changing to second gear was quite a challenge as I seemed to be driving very fast! I soon gained confidence under James' careful and through supervision. He progressed through the subjects at a rate that suited me (especially as a nervous driver at the beginning)and adapted as my driving skills developed. I never felt like I had been thrown into a situation I was not ready for, nor felt held back. James has been an extremely efficient, friendly and helpful driving instructor, couldn't recommend any better!

One thing that makes him a good driving instructor is that he is very calm and makes sure you are comfortable with the driving. James thoroughly goes over every aspect of driving to make sure that you are confident and competent. I would recommend James as a driving instructor to anyone.

A few hours ago I passed my driving test first time. James covers everything and makes sure are confident and competent in every area of driving. Even for a nervous person like myself, James had so much patience and made me feel at ease. I would not hesitate recommending James to any future learners wanting to drive. Thanks again James :-).
