The company was founded in 1999 by Anthony Edwards who is the managing director today. After running the jewellery shop Scorpio in Brighton's famous jeweller's quarter The Lanes for over 15 years, Anthony Edwards decided that there must be a better way to provide his customers with good quality jewellery but without the price tag of a high street shop. So he founded Wedding Rings Direct, the UK's first online jeweller specialising in wedding rings.
We had a great experience with WRD until the Wedding Rings arrived and the engraving requested was so small it could not be read with the human eye! This was particularly upsetting as I had had a conversation where I made it clear exactly what we wanted including an email saying the engraving must be readable (otherwise what's the point?)and I was assured that they would liaise with the engravers prior to engraving to see if there would be any problems which never happened and then they denied they ever said that! They admitted they hadn't quality checked the rings before sending them out (which says a lot!) and have not been very helpful in my opinion subsequently in trying to resolve the issue.
Company response : For the attention of anyone concerned with this review. I acknowledge that we had to part ways with Mr Sufraz without coming to a mutually satisfactory conclusion. In all instances where our customers are not happy with the rings they receive, even bespoke designs such as this, we do our very best to ensure they end up with the perfect wedding rings as we are aware of what an important purchase this is for any couple. We feel that we came up with a number of options for resolution, all of which involved showing the rings to our workshop to see if they could remake them to better suit Mr Sufraz's requirements. Mr Sufraz did not send the rings back to us to allow us to do this, and eventually said he would keep the rings as they are. If Mr Sufraz would like to send the rings in for inspection, we would be happy to talk to him about remaking them or refunding him in full.
With regards to the comment about us not quality checking the items, this is simply not the case. We thoroughly quality control all the rings, first when the workshop finishes making them and then by a second eye before dispatching. In this case, we feel that we made the rings within the specifications given to us.

We were lucky enough to be able to attend the Brighton showrooms to choose our rings, and Anthony and the team were exceptionally helpful in enabling us to have the rings we loved at an affordable price. All in all an excellent service, we would highly recommend them.
Amazing company. Their customer service when using their bespoke design service has been first class. Our rings are beautiful, they turned our dreams of a unique ring into a reality. They are a great fit and extremely comfortable would not hesitate to recommend them.
We used WRD to purchase a wedding ring for my husband to be - a plain court palladium 5mm band...its gorgeous! Better than we could have hoped and very reasonably priced. The sample service clinched it for us, and enabled us to try out sizes and styles before going for it. We were kept updated with the delivery via email and it was all very easy and efficient. I would really recommend WRD.
I had a bespoke sapphire + diamond wedding ring made, shaped to fit my engagement ring. Engagement rings are so special, I admit I was reluctant to send it in. I would have been worried even if it was a highstreet jeweller, nevermind an online company! I had no need to worry. I sent over my idea on how I'd like the ring to look and a CAD was sent back to me. The communication was excellent, emails were answered quickly, the price was very reasonable and the service was excellent. I had my rings back within 4 weeks. My wedding ring is beautiful and they re-finished and polished my engagement ring, returning it in much better condition than I sent it. I will be recommending to anyone who needs a wedding ring and the prices were so much more favourable than the high street. Very happpy customer.
I made several mistakes in my order of two wedding rings, and Wedding Rings Direct were just fantastic as sorting out the mess I made. Really excellent customer services, and really beautiful rings.
I ordered 3 rings, all excellent quality and just as described. The order arrived on time as promised and the service has been excellent. Due to the unusua nature of my order they were kind enough to call and check the detils before processing it. Highly recommended.
I bought our platinum wedding rings from WRD on recommendation from a friend back in 2004. The service was excellent then and it hasn't changed. After 7 years of not taking my wedding ring off regardless of DIY, gardening etc, I lost one of 5 baguette diamonds set in the ring. I got a quote from a high street jeweler of around £400 to replace the diamond, re-secure the 4 other diamonds and to polish the ring. When I contacted WRD their quote was less then £80 - no brainer. I had also managed to break the claw on my engagement ring but had found the diamond. WRD made me a replacement engagement ring to match my wedding ring using my original solitaire and gave me a fair price on the value of the gold from my original engagement ring. The rings are beautiful and arrived to my door in a lovely red presentation box - hassle free. All my email enquiries were answered quickly, clearly and in a welcoming friendly manner - couldn't have been better customer service and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending them to anyone
We purchase both of our wedding rings from WRD. One was a plain platinum band and the other was a bespoke platinum band shaped (wishbone) to fit a previously bought engagement ring (both were based on rings shown on the website). We used the try-before-you-buy service for the plain band to determine the preferred dimensions and profile, and therefore got exactly the shape and size we wanted. Regarding the bespoke piece, we sent off the engagement ring to have a silver replica made. The engagement ring was then returned to us and the wedding band shaped to fit the replica. The finished item was a perfect fit.
The process was very efficient, and the staff were extremely helpful. In addition, the prices were exceptional in comparison to the high street stored we had previously received quotes from - about half the price for the plain ring and about a third of the price for the bespoke ring! This is presumably down to reduced overheads.
The only price issues we found were that the try-before-you-buy service seemed quite expensive for what it was, and you cannot use discount codes against bespoke pieces. That said, the prices for the actual rings were so good that we really can't complain.
Finally, if you are worried about sending off an existing ring in order to have a bespoke ring made to fit or match the existing ring, don't be. We were a little hesitant at first, but it all worked out fine.
My wedding is soon. The question about buying rings has arose. Jewellery market in Moscow is very specific. No idea about the design, questionable quality, and incredibly high prices.
Company Wedding Rings Direct Ltd accidentally found by the search engine. I was immediately attracted the design of rings on their website. Using the most convenient site constructor, I received my ring cost. Price was in so much attractive that I immediately place the order.
A certain proportion of doubts still remained in my head about the quality of products. After receiving an order to hand in term of less than listed on the site, all my doubts vanished. The quality is exactly like the photos on the site. Carp just not what, and do not need. The rings were hallmarked, which once again confirmed their perfection.
In general. I got the ring and the service is absolutely satisfy me in every way.
