The registered charity toogoodtowaste operates throughout the County Borough of Rhondda Cynon Taf, by selling donated furniture from its Charity Shops in Aberdare, Ferndale and Ynyshir, back into the community at affordable prices and in case of hardship sometimes furniture is given away for free. All income generated is used to support, maintain and develop the charitable services and goals of toogoodtowaste.
Donations of unwanted furniture, furnishings, clothes and bric-a-brac that might otherwise be scheduled for landfill are accepted by toogoodtowaste. The items are sorted and refurbished before being sold to persons on low income through their three stores within RCT.
'Ethical' House Clearance Service Clearing out a house following a bereavement can be a very emotional and stressful time...... What to do with those items that the family does not want but that are toogoodtowaste? This new service aims to re-use/recycle as much of the items collected. Not just for re-sale in the Charity Shops (providing funds to support the charitable objectives) but also to help other groups/ individuals and charities that use pre-owned items. Eg. - bedding to homelessness groups or metal, paper, glass for recycling. Individuals and organisations who think they may benefit from this service, either because their clients need a 'house-clearance' service or because they use pre-owned items or materials. This pilot project has been part funded by Rhondda Cynon Taff.
