The Union is a student-led organisation with an annual turnover of over 10 million pounds. It aims “to act in the interests of all its members”, and is nationally recognised as providing some of the best services and activities available in any UK university.

It is located on the University’s central campus, in an integrated complex of buildings which have been substantially extended as the Union had developed. Facilities within the Union include extensive social and study areas, a 400-seat cinema and lecture theatre, meeting rooms and offices, and a wide range of commercial services.

The Union delivers comprehensive help to students, in all areas of their University lives. With various bars and eateries, as well as a student advice centre and copy shop, the Union also has friendly staff helping students to get the most out of their time at University.

With over 800 enthusiastic staff members, The University of Sheffield Union of Students has various different departments and jobs, ranging from Bar and Security work to jobs in Finance and Marketing.
